I am sorry but I did read it somewhere. Apparently he is telling russian newspapers that Philly fans are the worst fans ever. I have been looking for it but can not find it. I assure you it was in the news whether it is true or not. If I find it I will send you a link to it. - flyerdude17
did he say Philly fans or Philly GMs? |

Correct. Often, it's one or more of other players or one of the coaches talking off the record. - bmeltzer
So off the record stuff gets paraphrased and retold out of context. We take it as an opinion that is formulated and shared. Once you start hearing the same commentary out of the "un-named sources" the public believes it to be true. My opinion is where there is smoke, there is fire. |

He was on the radar way before 24/7... who can forget the "why you heff to be mad" interview in response to Oilers fans hating on Pronger for wanting out... telling Russian newspapers that the Giguere was only still on the Ducks b/c "nobody wants him"... the infamous "No parks" interview when it was though the 'Yotes might relocate to WPG... he's a loose cannon to put it mildly. - Tomahawk
The casual Flyers fan doesn't know that stuff, just like they didn't know that he finished 2nd in Vezina voting and 5th in Hart voting back in 2009-10. Once he started saying stuff like that in a Flyers' uniform, his days were numbered. |

True! Doesn't mean it should be accepted and not dealt with. - MJL
It might be out of the teams reach to deal with it. |

There are always personality conflicts anywhere you go and spend time with people. You don't have to love everyone you work with. You dont even have to like them. But if there someone on the work place everyone HATES it causes poor communication and relations, and will effect the working enviroment.
Its the same in the NHL, and teams DO make moves when something like this happens. I'm not saying that is the case in Bryz's situation. I have no proof. But look what is happening in Buffalo. They are going to move Miller more due to his clash on his team, then team need. It does happen. - youarewrong
And we all remember the story about Lindros and Brindy's wife. Be t thing you know Brindy's is in Raleigh and divorced. Moves like that are made all the time for "personality conflicts". |

Agreed. The so-called "Dry Island" was really about being stranded on a desert island for a week without entering the water. Richards and Carter couldn't attend, as they were busy making visits to children in hospitals that week. After Lavi reamed them out for it, they went into bouts of depression and, in moments of weakness, each shared 1/2 bottle of Corona with their fathers on their fathers' respective birthdays.
The media twisted the story quite nicely into Dry Island being about abstaining from alcohol and painted Carter and Richards as spoiled drunks. |

Some people also have an agenda. And sometimes the real issue is with those creating the smoke.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you wanted the Flyers to go with Bobrovsky, versus signing a Free Agent Goalie in the past. Is going with Mason any different from that? - MJL
amazes me that Bob still cant speak english, like most of Miami |

Maybe if the team doesn't know who said it, or it was said by a senior member of the team.
More likely that it's a fabricated media story. Let's not start putting too much credit into reports until they're confirmed by no less than 7 independent national newspapers. |

just to change up things, any rumors on Giroux's new contract?
supposedly they have started the negotiations
is a cap hit of 7.5/yr unrealistic?

Somewhere in the 7-8 range I'd guess.

I was thinking its possible 7 million cap hit. I dont think he can expect Crosb, Malkin, or Perry numbers as their performance is built off of performing at a high level for a longer time. More of a sure bet. |

Like I said, they need to find out if they don't know. You can make all the attempts to trivialize it you want. But I think stuff like that is a problem. And it's important that teams deal with it. |
