Does anyone have any idea of what Hamonic's new contract may look like? I would love a long term deal, but I seem to hear a large discrepancy in money when talking to other islander fans.
- engrassias2

I'm guessing long term 4-5yr deal of about $3m

The guy is 35, a crappy defenseman and is now making 5.4 million per year. I'm not sure you watched a single Islanders game this year based on your comment. He isn't good. Philly is a joke signing him for that much.
- Oneonta Penguin

Yeah Philly is a joke.

Btw, how does 2014-2015 look when you have 33.2 million tied up in 5 players?

Pronger is 99.9% done and will fade away on LTIR for the duration of his contract. Which doesn't hurt the Flyers except during the offseason, where LTIR doesn't matter. So essentially Prongers contract takes up the 10% you are allowed to go over during the offseason. Only 1 of those 3 will be moved, and most likely Meszy.

Coburn-Streit
Grossman-Gustafsson
Gervais as a 7th

- GirouxForTheShow

Not bad, but Gervais should go, what happen to the prospect Bourden ( if I spelled it right) that you guys have? did he sour?

I dont think signing Streit is a bad move for Philly, signing him to that contract is. I know I am kind of echoing what everyone else is saying but I just don't know how much value he will have after year 2 of that deal. He still can put up numbers and fills a need that Philly didnt seem to have...But over 5MM a year for 4 years, jeez.

Positives: Will help out Phillys PP as the QB
Negatives: Weak and terrible on D, and the $$/term

He is in the discussion for being the worst. He is right there with the guys in Calgary, Vancouver and the Rags.

Concussion issues, although he would definitely be up there. And honestly, Gervais will stay as a 7th but if an extra was needed, Lauridsen would most likely get the call up over Gervais. It's Bourdon too btw, Marc Andre Bourdon. He had a ton of promise, physical, big shot, quick, strong as a bull. He fought Prust in a HBO 24/7 game and in the locker room Prust raved about how strong "that little (frank)er" was. Its a shame, haven't heard any word on his progression since mid season where it wasn't good.

Liked what I saw about that kid, then I never saw him again, I watch a lot of hockey, and thought you had something with him, kinda horrible he has concussion issues, wish him well.....

U guy gonna finally play the Wellwood kid, or still keep him down? Good 3rd liner w/some promise

He is good at making trades. Drafting has improved since 2005. He UFA signings still blow up in our face.

Has an issue with using his speed, which is asinine because its close to the only thing he has working for him. He should be an excellent forechecking presence, but he isn't physical enough to play bottom 6 minutes, and doesn't have enough finishing ability to play top 6. He needs to be more assertive with his speed if he wants to make it into the NHL consistently, and he just hasn't done that yet.

Our goalie is 48 hours after the Cup handshake from being bought out, and Ill give Mason a year before I say MAF is better than him.

Would love to see a deal with the Isles and Van. A major number crunching project, however the fit seems to be there. Good luck with that!

Post 2005 lockout, yes. Can't say anything to defend him in terms of signing Gomez, Drury, Redden, Richards. But the team is younger and has the best group of home grown talent it's seen in a long time.

Agreed two of the top two players in the world, however one is often injured. VERY risky. With that said both players can be traded at any time.

Respect your opinion, but I think the Rangers can do better with another GM. I think Sather has been terrible for you guys. (For what its worth , I don't think Snow is a good GM either....But he still has time to prove me wrong and this year was a good start)

so its good for the team that you let your captain walk?

Great job!

- lileapers

Rather then sign him for four years at 5.25 million? Go away, you lost any credibility you may have had.

What type of deal? and no Luongo crap!!!!

Bieska, Edler, Burrows, Kesler, could see something, but nothing really good if top prospects from isles going to Van bc Snow doesn't trade top prospects, let alone for secondary talent....
