i guess "Centre" is used to promote the building as a multi-optional venue... - DoubleDown
that arena is the centre of nothing except a cluster of 7 car dealerships. |

Bell is one of the minority partners in the Molson family group, which owns the Canadiens. It has an 18 per cent share of the Montreal club, which plays at the downtown Bell Centre.

argument wasn't about how fitting they are as a sponsor. it's about how stupid Canadian Tire Centre sounds. it sounds like a big box store. i think using "Arena" would have been much better. or even keeping "Place". but i don't think anyone expects anything more from the Sens marketing/PR/advertising departments. - DoubleDown
Disagree. If they used anything other than Center, people would have dropped the name all together when talking about it.
No one is going to say 'Canadian Tire Place'. That's just lame. They are just going to call it the garage or the wheelhouse or something like that.
No one wants to say Canadian Tire Center either, but by making it 'center', people will say the 'CTC' instead which at least keeps the sponsor initials rolling off people's tounges. |

Guys, I think Chuckie's point is that at least Canadian Tire sells hockey equipment as compared to the other arena sponsors. |

I'm still pondering which side I will blindly defend to the death in the Canadian Tire / Scotia Bank debate currently raging in this forum.
at times like these I feel we need Oilhab to move into the eastern time zone. - dt99999
I can't believe it's actually a debate. Every arena in the league has a sponsorship. |

question: If the Avs go for Mackinnon 1st
would Duchene and + a pick be enough to get them the 2nd overall pick too? so they can grab em both? i'm sure Florida would be just as happy with Duchene no?

If one of their center is moved, it's Stastny. Not Duchene. |
