While I agree about Plekanec being the perfect 3C behind Lecavalier and Galchenyuk (should this scenario ever even have a chance to play out), I don't think this would be acceptable to:
a) Plekanec himself who has to at the very least see himself as a solid second line center, which he is at the moment.
b) Montreal playing their 3rd line center 5M per.
So everyone can joke about Eller, but he's probably one of the more important pieces moving forward. Habs management have to figure out if the kid is a 3C or 2C. Pay him accordingly and move other pieces that would potentially fill that role (or move on from Eller if he doesn't fit where they want him to). - kev1586
If they somehow have a shot at signing Lecavalier, they should trade Plek for a top 6 winger and give him his $5M. |

Thing is, most Wops are gay IMHO. Most however don't know it....Kudos to Adam for spotting this early and moving on with his life.
Well done Adam....very well done indeed. |

Gally is not ready to take over the #1 C job.
Plek would get the same amount of ice time but would play a checking role/off role. Vinny would be more offensive and Gally would get the easy ice time.... nothing wrong here.

Depends if they are trying to trade Plekanec and what Lecavalier's $/yrs demands will be if bought out. I really don't think he's a good long-term fit in Montreal. BUT, a buy-out might provide enough of a kick in the ass to get him motivated for a few seasons, even in Montreal. |

Your solution is viable but only one season. We can claim that Galchenyuk is not ready for 1C duty but I think the series vs. Ottawa showed that he needs to be on the top line... now. He's ready for more than the "easy ice-time" he saw last season, that much was obvious. |

why would they trade away a guy who's pretty reliable and still has some good years left on him who averages about 60 points a year for a guy who's missed about 20 games each of the past few seasons with a recurring injury and who averages about 60 points a year?

He didn't want to play in montreal before, why would he want to now that the expectations are still high and his ability is dwindling. |
