Bill has mentioned that maybe trading down under certain circumstances might be a good thing for the Flyers but personally, I only have interest in moving up. The Flyers are still a very talented team but we're also a lesser team then years past. Active players at decent ages are gone. Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Justin Williams, Patrick Sharp, Matt Carle, James van Riemsdyk, Joffery Lupul, Steve Downie, Luca Sbisa. It's hard to imagine that we won't miss 1 or more of these young talents some way, somehow. Re-stalk the fridge because it's hard to say that we're over flowing with food...

Zero interest. The Flyers still need a top sniping winger whether they sign one of draft one. They also don't have a balanced 2 way defender outside of Kimmo Timonen who is flat out finished after this season. There are holes and while teams get lucky in later rounds, I'm not one to leave things up to chance.

Because Gervais is a player that can sit in the press box as a 7th defenseman. Lauridsen is a player that needs to play as much as possible. If Gervais was used in the right role, I think we'd find out that he's not as bad as people think. And if Lauridsen was placed in a full time NHL role this upcoming Season. I think there's a possibility that we'd find that he's not ready for that yet.

Not his power play workload, though. It's the "hard" minutes -- PK, even strength against opponents' top lines -- where he could use some relief.
