3 years? lurk less. post moar. welcome! - hammarby31
I like to learn about people before I decide if they are worth talking to.
Cool, I like Portland hipsters. Both a poke fun of and their life styles. Good beer, biking and coffee. Puck is seriously lacking though eh? Thank god for the internet. - coffee junkie
Yea it's a great city. I live in place called the Alberta Arts Distract so those hipsters are running wild in this neighborhood. I'd probably go crazy if Center Ice wasn't a thing. Also, I can go catch Winterhawk's games to get my live action fix.
Not to mention the reports of Bettman talking with Seattle is pretty exciting for me too considering that's not far off. |

I hate Boychuk, which means he'd immediately be my favorite Flyer if Holmgren ever acquired him. - johndewar
ever since JR's "Manchuk" comment 2 yrs ago, it seems like i've only noticed him for the positives he brings. |

MJL's point was solid.
How many players in the league at Streit's age have played as few games as Streit has?
Kimmo is 38 and has played 1000 NHL games.
Streit is 35 and hasn't even played half of that. - johndewar
I haven't played any NHL games.
It's still a female dog to get up in the morning.
Yes, wear and tear is a factor. But simple age is also a factor.
And it's not like he was cryogenically frozen for 15 years. |

I'm not really all that excited for any of the defense prospects after Seth Jones. |

Still Disagree about Meszaros, but what are you going to do? If only he had stayed out the entire season like most Achillis ruptured players do, people might not think he was so fragile...
But I digress. I agree the Die may be cast on this one especially if everyone is supposed to be in camp and ready to go. It would look like Homer & Co are looking to go in another direction. I think Streit will be a good edition, my only concern now is that they get enough for Meszaros or Coburn in trade. - flyler
I think Homer is over a barrel trading Mez. He's selling low on a guy with a $4M cap hit. He'll be lucky to get a 7th round pick.
He could get something for Coburn, but then he's gotta count on Mez to come back and actually play hockey. |

Uhmm.. Well, this is kinda awkward...
Mark Streit actually was... cryogenically frozen for 15 years. His age is 35, but he has the body and mind of a 20 year old. |

speaking of which, i haven't seen krug unload one of those since scorching CSP in the 2nd round. - hammarby31
I think the adrenaline of getting to play in the playoffs has faded and the reality of the fine line between a good play and a disastrous one has set in. He still carried some pucks into the zone on the PP, gotten some shots on net, and played some pretty good D in his own zone (from what I've seen). He had that one bad pass that led to a goal, but that's about it as far as the mistakes I've seen. He could be a younger, slightly smaller Kimmo in the making. |

Oh, I agree. I'm older than both Streit and Timonen.
That said, neither of us are professional athletes whose livelihood depends on our physical well being. |

Clever title, Bill.
I'm not thrilled about the Streit signing but I'm not ready to call for Holmgren's head like some people. The market spoke and a need was filled. Now let's hope they can bring in a solid tandem partner for Mason if Bryz gets bought out and get Grioux extended. |

You left that out originally.
Put it this way... if we go into the season with OL in the top six.... we will likely be picking in the top 15 again next season. - jak521
Yea, I guess I meant it in my head but didnt really type it. Of course Im not talking long term either, just if Grossmann is out still when season starts. I dont think he's ready either, but he played better than Gervais (in my eyes) and definitely better than Manning.
If they think Grossmann is going to be out longer, and they trade Mez... then sure, I expect another trade/rfa signing to fill in the gap |

And my team. Completely frustrating as a two way center... I take pride in playing in all three zones... yet guys are constantly on the wrong side of the red line waiting for the homerun pass. - jak521
There's nothing wrong with standing on the wrong side of the red line (with your feet not moving) waiting for the homerun pass, as long as you repeatedly bang your stick on the ice, demanding the puck from your d-men.
And if they don't get it to you, it's your job as a forward to let them hear about it when you get to the bench.
After your three-minute shift. |

Honestly, I worry more about his upper body...his shoulders to be specific. And they tend to take a pounding up against the boards for defensemen. |

Its still my opinion the Flyers may look to trade Coburn in an attempt to move up to the 5th overall pick. I think they will also sign another defenseman and trade Meszaros too. And yes, I also think they will be trading for another goalie. Either Bernier or the rights to Emery or Nabakov or Vokoun. |

Yep its a bad situation. Unless the trade of Coburn brings back a young D man with promise I move Mez. I also think the flyers could use Huskins or other serviceable 7th D man. What are their options right now? |
