I'd be fine with this roster.
Plus, we still have "Pronger Dollars" to spend.
- johndewar
Plus Bourdon could be waived. And they also can get a lot more room by using the Bonus Cushion. |

That's still a heck of a trade. End of the line Forsberg for Parent, Upshall, Timonen, and Hartnell. - jmatchett383
Bill's fears never came to fruition. Very good deal then and now. |

@tpanotchCSN - Flyers would move Matt Read in a deal for Bernier. But Kings would likely want Jakub Voracek as main piece - speed, scoring. - BulliesPhan87
I would likely want Voracek if I were the Kings too although I'd prefer Giroux. |

Again, they'd have to include the rights to Penner for Giroux |

Here, LA, take all of the LOLs.
You can't have Jake Voracek for your backup goaltender.
Enjoy the 2nd round pick when he gets an offer sheet! - johndewar
There's no reason for Lombardi to not aim high right now. There is plenty of time. An Offer Sheet is not really a threat to LA, because Bernier is likely going to be dealt before July 5th. |

I actually think for Flyers to get to 5, they are going to have to include Edmonton. Both Edmonton and Carolina have said they are willing to trade down. So I would assume Meszaors, 11th, and 2nd to Edmonton for 7th overall, and Coburn and 7th overall for 5th overall and the rights to Corvo. - youarewrong
that might be do able, but loosing both Coburn and Mezzy would hurt. |

Everyone is throwing out trades on twitter now for Bernier since he switched agents.
Carchidi asked people if they would trade Couturier AND the 1st round pick for Bernier.
I wouldn't even give up Couturier for Bernier in a straight up deal, let alone toss in a 1st round pick.
If they won't take Matt Read (and I'm not entirely sure I'm even comfortable with that), then I hang up the phone and tell them to enjoy whatever compensation they get for when Bernier gets an offer sheet. |

So Coburn, Meszaros, 11th overall, and 2nd for 5th overall and rights to another PP specialist? - jmatchett383
That would be about the right price believe it or not. |

Hang up the phone homer...i dont think they can take Voracek because of the cap hit he carries anyways. They still have voynov to sign. Read makes way more sense for them to take, he can help right away and he is cheap for another year. |

I don't disagree, but I didn't mean to imply that the Flyers should be the team to give him that offer sheet.
I was speaking more in terms of letting Lombardi deal with another team and walk away entirely. |

Conversation should go like this:
Holmgren: "We can offer Matt Read and a 2nd for Bernier."
Lombardi: "Sorry Paul, it's going to take Couturier and a first. Hello? Hello?"
Conversation most likely goes like this:
Holmgren: "We can offer Matt Read and a 2nd for Bernier."
Lombardi: "Sorry Paul, it's going to take Couturier and a first."
Holmgren: "Include a 2nd and 3rd and it's a deal." |

Grudgingly yes, but I'd rather try to work a deal around Cousins if we're using prospects. |

So would you deal Couturier and a No. 1 for Bernier? Just wondering.... #flyers #Kings |

read's cap hit makes him a tremendous trade asset right now...that said, I'd rather keep him if possible. there are enuf goalies out there that will not require expending assets for... |

When did Bernier become a young Lundqvist? He has barely played in the NHL. His resume is no better than Ben Bishop. |

General rule of thumb: Do not give up good assets for goaltending, and do not overpay for goaltending. |
