Hooray, we're saved.... I think? If he gets top-6 ice time hopefully he can be effective and score some goals. I think he'll start the year on the big club and PDB will see what he can do with some real ice time. |

Same haha, especially since it looks more and more like we're going to lose 2/3 out of Zubs/Patty/Clarky to free agency. Though I feel like Lou could have already resigned one or more of those guys and is just waiting until July 5. Fingers crossed. |

I remember Ted's first year where he came up and played a few games, he was awesome, scoring OT winners and such. Hopefully he can recapture some of that. |

kings re-sign voynov, sharks re-sign coulture, wings re-sign datsyuk, and the devils trump those moves by resigning tedenby, that's 600K the devils organization want be getting back. think maybe its time for lou to take his hall of fame resume and retire? don't worry about Clarkson, elias or zubrus, as long as we get tedenby back its a winning summer. |

Thanks for the update! Tell me more about how terrible this franchise is please. Don't forget to include how terrible Larsson is as well. Summer hasn't even started yet. Give it some time before you declare the sky is falling. Lou has never been one to really give/leak any info about his doings. For all you know, Patty is already resigned and Lou is just waiting until after the SCF to tell us. |

Wonder if he's thickened out, yet. If the Devils get their powerplay going, Tedenby will be a good asset because he draws a lot of penalties. |

I am fine with the one way and Tedenby's contract. This is the make or break year for Teddy. He will be starting his 4th year in NA and 6 since being drafted.
He is not the type of player who will develop more in the AHL. Who knows maybe he was thinking about playing in Europe this year?
My guess is Tedenby is not going to develop into an NHL player. I hope I am wrong. Devils need to give a player of his potential skill another chance at the NHL level. |

The kid has his face almost cut off & missed a ton of time, not that he was productive anyway.
Color me shocked if he pulls a top 6 role out of his arse.
If he's listed in the top 6 next season it's because Lou failed to replace Parise for the 2nd year in a row & let Clarkson, Elias, and Zubrus walk.
Otherwise, he's done nothing to justify being top 6.
Time will tell |

Zubs and Clarky are both 3rd liners. Their style of play suits them more for that role. Teddy has the skills and speed to be a 2nd line scorer. I agree, time will tell, we need any sort of scoring we can get at this point |

It is becoming more and more worrisome that non of the key guys have been signed. Hopefully he gets them locked up. I mean I never thought of the possibility of losing Henrique till Todd mentioned it yesterday. I mean I doubt it happens but if we are thinking worst case scenario there are a lot of bad things that could just crush this franchise this year but if anyone can make it work its Lou ! |

Next year's lines when we re-sign literally no-one:
Tedenby - Loktionov - Kovy
Boucher - Zajac - Bernier
Carter - Gionta - Matteau
Barch - Whitney - Wohlberg
Knowing us we'll then somehow be better and win the Atlantic...
But at least we'll have enough cap space to trade for DiPietro! |

that's exactly what it'll be! .. maybe add the 9th overall to the mix.. as a healthy scratch in favor of Barch of course.
2 top 6 players on the entire team. That's what we'll be looking at.
AT LEAST OUR DEFENSE WILL BE VET-SAVVY |

It is kind of a pain for us to sit through I mean every other team is doing something to improve through trades, signing key pieces or hiring new coaches while we sit and figure out more and more ways to talk about the #9 pick |

Ha ha yes keep all our slow, old D-man but we'll have a good youthful offensive "core"
I should be a GM. My NHL 13 GM mode lines:
Kovy - Tavares - Huberdeau
Hall - Zajac - Grabner
Elias - Henrique - Steen
Bernier - Carter - Grigorenko
make it happen Lou! |

wow that's crazy. I just stick with the team I have to keep it remotely realistic. The trades you can make are so absurd haha. .. and this is already with the updated rosters in the real NHL, post-trade deadline. .. so the Devils had some more firepower (on paper).
I have..
Elias-Zajac-Kovalchuk
Henrique-Zubrus-Clarkson
Sullivan-Loktionov-D'Agostini
Ponikarovsky-Carter-Bernier
Greene-Larsson
Volchenkov-Zidlicky
Tallinder-Salvador
in the game, this is a darn solid lineup. No slow players besides Volchenkov and Sal. All the forwards are in the 80s/70s for Shot power/accuracy.. they're all good. Zajac and Zubrus are great at faceoffs, Carter's not bad either. On the PP I get to give Poni and D'Agostini more ice time too, and the PK also gives Poni and Carter more time. Well oiled machine. In my current season I'm 14-4-2 in 'All-star' difficulty.
.. this is what we talk about when there's nothing else to discuss besides a Teddy re-sign. it's so bad. |

I always trade away the old players for picks and tank to get the high picks. A few seasons in I've got:
Drouin-McDavid-Kovy
Patty-Eller-Iginla
Black-Henrique-Zubs
Carter-JJ-Bernier

It took me so long to switch to 12 when it came out I was actually still playing 11 when I got 13 lmao but I have totally switched to 13. It was just killing me how long it would take to sim in 12 and 13 I could do like 3-4 seasons in 11 in the time you could do one in 12 and 13 but hopefully when the new systems come out the sim time will be a lot less I rarely actually play any games cause I get bored to fast so I just sim. Pretty much unless I have to win a game or something. |

the loading time for EVERYTHING in 13 is painful. I play all the games, but when I have to sim 3 days to get to the next game I can run to the bathroom and back and it'll just be finishing! |
