It's funny. I seen on twitter pretty reputable sources that Tampa would entertain the idea of getting Letang, but i can't see anybody the Pens would be interested in, outside of maybe Hedman. And why would they want him with Carle there?? |

My random trade idea of the day:
Letang & Fleury to Florida
2nd overall pick, Gudbranson, Markstrom and a prospect - cap1681
that would be a hell of a haul, but would literally set that florida team back years |
|
|
|
Florida would be nuts to do that. They are in the middle of a huge rebuild, and have the potential to draft a top end talent. Markstrom is poised to be their #1 next season, and Gudbranson is their top defensive prospect. - jak521
I agree Florida would be nuts to do that. Then again, I see people thinking Philly can get Ryan/Hiller out of Anaheim for Read and Mezaros. That is just as ridiculous.

I knew from day one you guys were going to win that trade hands down. I still get pissed thinking about it. - jak521
Which was more one sided in retrospect: Goligoski for Neal and Niskanen, or Jack Johnson for Jeff Carter?
Penguins fans, please factor in your current chagrin for Niskanen. |

Briere is a great person but I don't think he is a good fit at all for the Pens.
He is best on the power play but the Pens don't need him for that.
Takes a lot of penalties and isn't good defensively.
He is a highly skilled player though.
He would be best as a #2 center on a team that could surround him w/ strong wingers.
Think he will end up w/ NYR, NYI or NJ. Just guessing though. - Daman
I can see a return to Buffalo for some reason. |

Far more ridiculous than a Norris nominee and 40 game winning goalie for sure. |

Also a possibility. One last go round before hanging up the blades. |

Neal for Goligoski was more one sided. Jack Johnson has turned into a decent player.

At least it'll be a somewhat shorter offseason. Heck, the draft will be in all one day. What a whirlwind. I couldn't be more excited unless we had a shot at the cup still. |

I completely agree.
You would have to add Fowler to that as well. |

JJ had a first rounder with him for Carter I believe.... that makes it pretty even
Goli for Neal and Niskanen is way more one sided |

Still think Goligoski... He really hasnt had the impact they were hoping for. |

How about Craig Smith or Patrick Hornqvist and their 4th + some d-man? - Orpik44
It depends on which Patrick Hornqvist are you getting. The one last year - sure; the one this year - hell no. |

Huh, I forgot about that first rounder. Considering that, the Goligoski trade was definitely more one sided. |

yeah, this craziness and hypothetical stuff does at least provide some mental occupation to not focus on the bitterness of being absolutely pillaged, so like i said, im all for these discussions.
i dont see nashville making a play, but they have some interesting pieces.
ill breathe a little easier if it gets announced soon that dupuis has been signed to a 3 year 9 million dollar deal |

Woah, you forgot we stole Mason from them. Forget the Veznika or whatever it's called, Mason should've won the Cup for those seven games he played here! |

24th is too big of a ? mark. - cranktheradio
24th pick, you can get someone like Ryan Hartman, who I think the world of. I'm not sure Vancouver would do that. They are up against the cap already and will have to resign Letang for 7 million ... resign both Sedin's, Hansen for starters. That is alot of money |

Let's tone down the we stole Mason from Columbus. I think you need a bigger sample size than six or seven games. He was lousy for the previous two. |
