Couts coburn 1st for Ryan and etem - griouxmvp2012
Never letting go of both Ryan and Etem. I know Murray's a fool, but he no one is that stupid. |

Etem is the reason why we can trade Ryan and not look back |

Etem is going to be a star in this league. The guy has a work ethic of Russell Wilson. Give it a few seasons and you'll join the fan club. |

honestly I don't get Coburn PLUS a first rounder for Ryan, I love Ryan, but a top 6 forward with a $5 mill cap hit for a top 4 defenseman with a $4.5 mill cap hit seems pretty straight up. |

I really don't wanna trade Ryan to Philly, Giroux is the only player on that team worth anything really. I'd rather use Ryan as a key to a way bigger deal and land a superstar...Anaheim is so rich in up and coming prospects that they can put a package together for the 1st overall pick if they wanted to....and I want them to
Imaging a PP with Getzlaf, Perry, Etem, Fowler and JONES for the next half a decade.
.throw Gibson in the pipes and that's oneof the most dangerous lines in the NHL |

assuming marc staal is healthy and back at his old all-star 25 minute a night form by the deadline, would you consider trading ryan for him? |

I'm from Sudbury and watched Staal as our captain put th team on his back and steal games...I'd love to trade for Staal, but I can't see him re-signing in a few years if hehas a chance to go to Carolina |

As much as I would love to see B-Ry in black and orange, it is not worth the precarious position it would put is in the following season unless we found other salary to dump.
Giroux (3.75m), B. Schenn (3.1 mil with bonuses), and Couts (1.4mil) are all RFAs following the '13-'14 season and in addition Matt Read (.9 mil) is a UFA. All 4 players deserve and will get raises which will severely test the Flyers ability to stay under the cap even with the buyouts and Pronger's LTIR freeing up some space. Love Ryan but not sure the Flyers can handle it without getting rid of some of the guys nobody wants to see leave. |

Any team tempted to go big on Bobby Ryan needs to study his film from last season closely; he only sporadically resembled the premier power forward he was in prior seasons. No reason he can't return to form, but is not the sure thing he was up until last season.....

Bobby Ryan for Stastny, Barrie/elliot, and the #32 overall pick.
Young Dman, a center to replace Koivu and a pick worth about the same as a late first in a deep draft.
If you could make the Cap hit work out for next year then you would be fine cap wise, your D would get good young D prospect and the value is about even.
Is this the best deal you could get, probably not but it is decently even and I am having fun with it. |

I'd take that for sure...except I watched Mcfarland for 2 years playing for the Sudbury Wolves...they kids is horrible. I'd just trade for Kulikov and the 2nd overall |

With the prospects we have, McFarland will never see NHL ice with this team, and Kulikov is very quickly coming out of favor with management and fans alike; he may need a change of scenery. We have a boat load of defensive prospects coming up: Matheson, Racine, Petrovic, Nielsen.. not too mention Gudbranson, Caruso, and Robak, all three of whom are already playing up here with us. With Kuba, Campbell, and Weaver, we have 3 good veteran blue liners.. Jovo will probably be on LTIR. Kulikov is expendable. We need elite scoring, Ryan is an elite scorer. It's time to build around someone like Bobby Ryan and it's time to stop throwing our prospects out there. |

And the reason I swap picks is this is a deep draft. We get an elite scorer now, and still can draft Erne or Lazar, who will be top line forwards in the NHL, or Ian McCoshen, an elite US blue-liner. Again we have ridiculous prospect depth for THIS reason.. Huberdeau, Howden, Birkholtz, Shaw, Brickley, Delnov, Shore, Trocheck.. time to get that proven NHL goal scorer. |

Out side of Huberdeau whos already an NHL player. The kid you could draft would be your top prospect right away. and potentially be ready. |

It's awesome how everyone thinks their junk will pry an All Star winger from Anaheim.....It's going to take at least a first, a top prospect and a good young player.....
Would this work - Sabres 16th, Ennis and McNabb? |

Howden and Trocheck are going to be two amazing NHL players. I forgot to mention Bjugstad as well. Either way I'm okay with drafting someone or trading down. I am not okay with trading up.
In other news... the draft needs to be tomorrow kthanks |

His 18 games without a goal seems like a star in the making.......And an OHL MVP doesn't signify greatness.....I've seen tons of kids that dominate in the lower levels but never make the jump.... |

Howden will get there, don't worry. He had 15,000 chances. He could have easily had 10 goals last season. |

How would the flyers fit that into their budget? They are already way over the cap.... - cuethenoise
True ... how would that help the Flyers defense as well. Holmgren can't help himself.
