I guess you haven't seen me hate on letang yet. For the millionth time, why would the ducks want more offensive d when they already have fowler and vatanen? If I'm trading a star winger I want something the team actually needs- a shutdown d which letang is the polar opposite - selanne4pres
No offence here but Letang is vastly superior to both of them, together. Your management seems to be interested in him. We are not too high on B.Ryan, at all. If I could choose we'd ask for Etem/Gibson. |

Anaheim is foolish to do that. - Oneonta Penguin
That would be an idiotic move. Philly fans think they'll get Ryan/Hiller for Mezsaros/Read. |

No, like 2 people said that That's not "Philly Fans". That's a couple of delusional people not an entire fan base.
I think the majority of our fan base isn't all that interested in trading for Ryan.
Would we like him here? yes. But what we'd have to cough up would be way to much.
The reason you keep hearing Read is because he may NEED to be moved so people want to cash in on him while their is value. I believe most are aware he's just a starting point for a trade not a deal maker. |

He's definitely a better player, but all I'm saying is that he doesn't fit a need. Too bad Gibson/Etem are our only two untouchables |

That's like me saying that Pens fans think they will get E.Kane Bogo and Pavelec for Letang. There are dumb fans in every fan base, don't generalize. After all, the Pens fanbase has only be around since what, the 2005 Entry draft? - GirouxForTheShow
You were very close I've been a Penguins fan since 95.
I read about this ridiculous trade proposal a couple days ago. Amazing...clueless people.. |

I just heard one on another forum say he wants Gibson, Ryan, Sbisa and our first for Letang - Bluesbreaker
haha pretty funny but I doubt that somebody would be dumb enough to propose this deal. You added quite a bit there in your made up trade proposal |

Hey if we're talking made up deals I'll take a rejuvenated Lemieux, Gretzky and Robitaille for a bag of pucks and Jonas Hiller. |

Sbisa is young and has lots of potential. He can bring it defensively, but sadly doesn't on many nights. If he were to go through a full training camp with a good mentor and coach he'd be a great two-way defender. Personally, I hope he does and stays with Anaheim because he can really be a top 4 kinda guy for years to come. |

In his first couple games here, he certainly looked like he good be a top 4. Definitely one that excelled at avoiding forechecking and moving the puck up ice fluidly. But he only played a few games and obviously he was very raw. |

I hope that this isn't true. A much as I would like to have Ryan on the Flyers, trading defense for offense is exactly the opposite thing that Philly needs to do. Holmgrom would be ill advised to make this deal |

Read my Lips - The Flyers will not trade the 11th pick in the draft for Bobby Ryan! This is just baloney coming from the Ducks to try to pump up Ryan's value and his agent to get him out of Anaheim and to Philly where he wants to be.
I'm not saying that the Flyers are not interested or even that they won't trade for Ryan, however if there is a trade it will not include the 11th pick in this draft. This is a deep draft and the Flyers will get a very good player and they need to add to their prospect pool - hopefully to get a defenseman who turns out to be a very productive NHL player in the near future.
The flyers are looking to shed salary, that is why the Coburn rumor. I would prefer they trade Meszarous - but his recent injury history probably lessens his value. The flyers would probably be willing to trade Coburn and possibly include Matt Read instead of the 11th pick. If that turns out to be true I would hope the Flyers also get something besides Ryan in return - it could be minor league prospect or maybe a mid round draft pick.
I'd like to have Bobby Ryan, but Coburn and the 11th pick is way too much and that pick is too valuable for the Flyers future. |

Assigning Grades to team based on Entry Draft Selections
Before you e-mail or PM me angered by my disrespect and misjudgment of your favorite team's choice, let me one make it clear concerning this specific draft: All team GMs and fans could say how they did great. Or how poorly they did. Because of the depth this draft class at the first four tiers (See Draft Tier explanations elsewhere on DraftSite…),this draft class, from pick 1 to pick 211, may bring major contributors and impact players to many NHL teams. Whether they admit it or not, NHL teams hope that the high character youngster they select not only graduate to the pro game, but develop into high impact stars, no matter which slotting there are chosen in. This draft provides MANY chances of unearth those type players.
My grades will be based NOT on the amount of picks, but on the possibility of the drafted prospects making contributions on NHL rosters FIVE years from now.
I will start by saying the upside of this class is by far one of the finest, but I and NHL teams cannot accurate predict NHL success for them at this juncture, just draw on my opinions of the player's canvass at this particular juncture in the journey.
Of, course I will bump up grades for team where they took my favorites, or prospects are clearly ahead of the curve towards NHL long term advancement and domination. Value in the players picked and where they are picked will also be key factors.
At first glance, I like a lot of team boards.

Anaheim Ducks
Grade B
Shea Theodore (26)
Nick Sørensen (45)
Keaton Thompson (87)
Shea Theodore was last of the first round picks on defense. This strong skating offense-first defender is a all-compass skater who takes space and time away on the attack with great reads and passes. He is work in progress, in terms of reading and adjusting to quick in game changes and reacting to them, and needs time to develop physically. There could be big payoff when he does. Nick Sørensen is a hightly-touted Danish-Swedish prospect needed reconstructive surgery on his ACL & MCL and will not play again until this 2012-13 season. While at Quebec, his further development was stifled by the rule which limits each team in the "Q" to only suit two European born players per team, and his Quebec team has "vets" Grigorenko and Kucherov ahead of him. Possesses tremendous first steps, a set of gears that combined with his passing and smarts to project him as a player with significant upside. Thompson is far from ready but shows the makings of good all-around defenseman, due to his natural poise and balance, and all-around skating ability. Excellent competitor who can handle all situations, with poise and calm. Passes the puck really well. Besse needs even more developmental time, but is a small speedy forward who is a goal scorer.
I have to give them a B on my prejudices that at least two of the group play in the NHL. If they end up with one they get an F because at each of their first two elections there was another player I felt was one who certainly might be viewed as having better chances at being NHL pro players.
