Nice. At the rate of turnover I think the jersey buying days for the Flyers might be over. |

Our definitions of what's considered touch has to be completely different then. I don't ever expect him to become Keith Primeau, who was touch in ever sense of the word but I do fully expect him to become Rod Brind'Amour. - dingo8urbaby
not to insult you what does "touch" mean and how did Primeau ever do anything other than suck in the playoffs better than Brind'Amour? |

Yes I fully believe Timonen could bring in a reasonable return. Timonen is still very good at what he does and could help any team around the league today. - dingo8urbaby
But he isn't going to strap a shift on his shoulders and be "the man". Jags and Iggy still can. Maybe it's because they play offering roles. I may be wrong, but just my impression. And I'm hoping we aren't sellers at the deadline anyway. |

I haven't bought a player jersey in years for this very reason. One road sweater and one home sweater is all I have now, both blank. I have enough Lindros, Renberg, Leclair, Brind Amour, Primeau, and Coffey jerseys for one man.

Primeau was the most protypical Flyer to ever don the O&B ? |

I hope you're right, and he becomes Brind'Amour. That would be terrific. You don't have to be a fighter and throw big hits around to not be a soft player.

That run Primeau had in the 04 playoffs was something special. Cant take that away from him.

Iginla was just okay for the Pens. Jagr is still very good when he has the puck, but otherwise ordinary. Seabrooke was Jagr's point coverage last night. Timonen could definitely help a contender if the Flyers are out of contention at the deadline. Which I don't see happening. Especially in a reduced role then he's going to play here.

You can't be serious. The 2004 playoff run was lead by Keith Primeau. He was playing a checking role and really stepped up when some of are stars couldn't. He adjusted his game when he probably wasn't the same scorer he was in years past. He wasn't meant to be a checker but he became one. He did what he had to do as a Captain for the Flyers. Solid hitter, good faceoff man, sound defensively and could chip in offensively. Probably not the best skater but I liked Keith Primeau's game a lot. I completely respect him as one of our former Captains. |

I think we're very lucky to have had Past Captains who have been huge for us. Lindros, Primeau and Richards have all had moments when they were huge for us while wearing the "C". Pronger never actually had a big Captain moment but he was huge for us in his short stint. Even a guy like Jason Smith in one season would break his face and his shoulders and still keep going. |

I'll give you this..
he was possibly the best third line center in the league in 2004 and no captain in NHL history ever stepped up as much to lead his team to a third round loss as Primeau did that season. Bards will sing his song for centuries to come
gimme a break. |
