Well, that is an interesting perspective, ill give you that.

he was a career douche bag and had one "decent" playoff run in a career of playoff failures. no flyers player has ever been celebrated so much for such a tiny contribution. |

I'm not celebrating him. I'm just stating facts. He had a great playoff run in '04, and scored 37 goals in '01. And that is pretty much ALL I said on the subject. Don't recall mentioning retiring his number or campaigning for the hall of fame. But we get it, you hate the guy.

He wouldn't be a very good Mayor otherwise.

That tying goal in game 6 before Gagne won it on OT is probably one of my favourite Flyer moments.
I was a fan since '97, but that goal, really made me fall in love. |

And then he got stoned by Kabibufart in Game 7 with the potential tying goal on his stick. Worthless bum. |

Speaking of recent great memories.... Loved seeing his fire and excitement. Would have been the starting SCF goaltender if he doesnt get injured.

Yea, agree '95 I started watching, I didn't have cable so there'd usually be one game a week on tv I could watch if the rabbit ears were cooperating on channel 17.
That was a big series and I remember the panthers playoff series being the first series where I listened to every game on the radio if it wasn't on tv |

I wanna own that entire season on whatever the future comes out with, starting with the Ray Emery signing, to the loss to the Hawks. The 2009-2010 season was magical! |

Just threw up a lil bit, in my mouth
CapGeek @capgeek 1m
The #Flyers have $9.7M more in 2013-14 defense spending than any other #NHL team at the moment. http://www.capgeek.com/po...al-comparison/?position=D … - Jsaquella
It sucks to have that Pronger cap hit. I never understood the charade that has to go on between organizations and players who have experienced career ending injuries with the cap. Just seems like a goofy way of doing accounting for the salary cap in my opinion. |

If you count Pronger, we have like 7 top 4 D men. Of course 2 are never on the ice anymore and one is a year from retiring. Not surprising. |

To me though, those guys. Lappy, Pronger, Timonen and Briere... In 30 years, those are the guys I will remember most from these times.
The current team has guys I like, but nobody is even close to the status of what those guys meant to me as a fan.
I could care less about the drama party crew of Richards and Carter, etc. This should have been known as the Briere era. - flyer_nutter
All those guys mentioned above, lappy especially, gave everything they had in that run in '10 to get a cup. Everyone always talks about putting it in another gear for the playoffs, but those four were red-lining it from the first game of the new jersey series to game 6 of the finals.
Nobody should forget those four. Sadly, everyone will remember all the off ice stuff and other garbage that era brought.
