How many offersheets have worked in the last decade? And three of them are going to go against the Blues this year?
I would love to hear the deals that would keep the Blues from matching. - carcus
Think sj and hjalmarsson. Even if u matched all of em, you've been handicapped. No pun intended |

Well- NYI, EDM and CAL are all gonna be cap compliant. PHI if they unload Bryz
Draft picks are inconsequential for certain teams since they will not be for 2013.
Calgary- Berglund
Edmonton- Stewart
NYI- Shattenkirk
PHI- Pietrangelo
Not trying to be a d#ck. My point is if you traded Stewart and Halak for Price it would solve a lot of issues. - FLflames34
The Blues don't have issues.
Mainly because they don't throw out stupid contracts and NTC/NMC. |

It is not going to happen.
Fans love to talk offersheets, but they rarely happen, let alone 3 or 4 to the same team, a team that doesn't have cap issues. |

I wonder if ClaudeG. will move in with Bryz? - Flyfreaky
Couturier was the most recent room mate. Claude graduated to an apt with another one of the young single guys. |

And very rarely does 1 team have 4 prized rfa's all at once. This would be the time if there was one.
Backes signed one. Just sayin...
Far fetched or not, i didnt really start proposing all of them.
my original point was shattenkirk is primed for 1.
Jaybo at close to 7. AP prob 6-7. A few forwards to resign and someone offers your 3rd dman 1st/2nd type money. Like 5-6.
It'd clearly be an overpay and have to make st. Loo think twice.

Just listen to this trade..Open mind Pittsburgh has done nothing recently, Fleury has deteritoorated, Crosby wants to win. They have alot of fowards..Malkin, Fleury and Orpik to Montreal for Carey Price, Tomas Plekanec and Markov.. alance it with picks/Prospects Anyway you like...pENS ADD A GOOD CENTER THAT WOULD BE A pERFECT #2 Behind Sidney, a veteran defenseman and a goalie who can get them relaible goaltending, And really needs to get ot of Montreal..Habs get that tio center they have always needed. Any thoughts. - jillann

They rarely happen because even in the rare instance that a GM is gutsy enough to attempt one, the player is almost always worth retaining even with overpayment |

Backes offer sheet was huge favor to Blues. He's was underpayed by the time the third year rolled around. Just saying. |

Yeah I never understood that one, IIRC it was only like 1 year/2.5M or something, not even close to being crazy, and the Blues matched it in about five seconds. It was very halfhearted; the compensation wasn't even a 1st IIRC |

At the time the Flyers offer for Kesler seemed outrageous to pay him 1.9M. Backes offer sheet from Vancouver was fair market value at the time. At least Gillis didn't pull a Lowe and screw up the entire market. It was very reasonable.
Briere will sign with a team in the division so he can get home frequently. Any team relatively nearby like NYR, NYI, NJ, PITTS, BOS, etc., will take a look. He'd be a very good fit in NJ. |

I've never touched drugs, but if I were to ever start, I'd smoke the stuff in Montreal. Is it legal there? Where do you get your stash? |

Briere to Pittsburgh. - Orpik44
Seems to be where our cap casualties go. Was tough seeing LeClair in black and gold.
Then he hurt Malkin in preseason so I just pretended he was a double agent. |
