Luongo won't be bought out. If Gillis is serious about trading him then there will be a lot of teams lining up to try get him. Luongo is still the best goalie in the game when he wants to so 29 other GM's would love to acquire him. Comes down to whichever team can put together the best package.

Florida finally gets a number 1 goalie in Luongo, a solid veteran blue liner in Ballard and can sign Raymond. Really fills a lot of needs for Florida.
Canucks get a good defensive prospect in Gudbranson. Bjugstad is a project but could be a good 3rd or 4th liner. And Florida's first round pick could possibly turn into a good player but it's not a guarantee. Both teams benefit and fill their needs and it's fair.

Inaccurate. I believe Luongo can be traded, I just believe Vancouver is a too respectable franchise to do it. But Luongo COULD be traded, it would just take a deal something like:

Vancouver gives:
Luongo
1st Round Draft Pick 2013
1st Round Draft Pick 2014

Buffalo gives:
4th Round Draft Pick 2014

Pegula is crazy and rich, he would be happy to basically buy a couple first round picks from Vancouver for the cost of 20 million or whatever Luongo's buyout would cost him right after the trade.
