Not saying it was. Briere had his good points and his bad points. I'm just not going to praise him like he was the Flyers Savior. I'm not happy to see him go, but I'm not sad either. - youarewrong
el oh el, you're silly in this silly season. |

To be honest it wasn't the streaky scoring that really got to me. It was the dumb ass penalities that make Hartnell look diciplined. - youarewrong
Briere's so small that he's more or less forced to rely on stick work to get any space in the offensive zone... hence all the o-zone/PP-killing penalties.
Whereas, Hartnell really has no excuse for a lot of the stuff he gets caught doing. |

Coburn's like Carle... fans won't realize how critical he is to the club until after he's gone. - Tomahawk
Bah! Some of us still believe in Coburn! I was ok letting Carle walk particularly when I saw his new contract. Go ask a Lightning fan if they think he played at his pay grade last season.
Coburn didn't have a great season and we all know it. But put him with a decent partner and he'll return to form.
And besides I adore that nose! |

Can't say I was a huge Carle supporter, but I'd still take him at even money over Streit in hindsight, with age, defensive prowess and familiarity being the key selling points. |

Hartnell's pretty fast for a big guy... a lot of it is over-zealousness, some of it is carelessness, and there are a few instances where you really question if his head is filled with cement. |

Hard to say Carle for 6 years and 5.5 cap hit or Streit for 4 years and a 5.25 cap hit?
A touch of a toss up.
Won't it be fun in a few years to have both Pronger and Streit on LTIR? |

he could do the commute to Newark and keep his family where they are now. its only a few hrs away - nastyflyergirl
And he's already said he's not relocating the kids. They are happy in their school and their hockey teams/leagues. He plans to make this his home when he retires. So unless he does play for the Devils, the kids will live with their mom during the season (as they were the first half of last season, while Danny was in Germany) until Danny retires. |

Forsberg lived somewhere closer to Rittenhouse. Away from the "bro's" section of town - TrentKlatt

I personally think his head is full of unicorns and razor blades. He's sometimes so inconsistent with his level headedness...
Is there a number for the Spanish Inquisition? Cuz you never know what to expect from him some games.
And apparently I should be ignored today as I am way out in left field. Can I go home yet? |

They should just re-sign Rathje and make it an LTIR trifecta. |

So moving onto Silly Season talk... Would you rather:
1. Trade Coburn, 11th overall for 5th overall.
2. Trade Coburn, 11th overall for B.Ryan and 26th overall pick.
3. Stay at 11. - youarewrong
I'd think long and hard about Option 2, but I don't think Anaheim would do that. I like Coburn and think he is more part of the solution here than part of the problem.
I'm partial to staying at 11 and making a pick. |

One of his assistants hid it. So no not yet. He's currently checking the broom closet for it while yelling that he can SMELL IT. |

JVR lived in the Rittenhouse area, too. Mimi used to see him in the 16th and Walnut Starbucks a lot. And Max lives in Pat Burrell's apt in the Lanesborough (because Pat left when it was unsellable in the down market so rented it out--it's a very odd layout, kind of only a multimillionaire bachelor pad kind of place). |
