Hossa at this stage of his career would be a nice signing here in philly. - dingo8urbaby
Depends on his price and years. |

Both of those players will look for a bigger role. The Flyers have younger players who need to step into those roles to grow. They have plenty of leadership imo. Its time to be smart when adding players, not just high priced vets. Morrow is done. Jagr is going to be expensive and he shouldn't be on our top two lines at this point. - stveshdy
Beat me to it. Pretty much echoes my thoughts exactly.

That leadership really stepped up before the arrival of Pronger and this season |

I'm not worried about it. He is 33, still a great player now. He could slow down but he has Jagr like skill. |

As we're getting close to the draft, any scuttle butt on whose draft stock is rising and falling? For example, it seems Nichkushin is all over the board if he will go top 5 or drop. - ravishingone
It seems Fucale is rising into many mocks top 12 picks. Others maybe Frederik Gauthier, Anthony Mantha, & Mirco Mueller.
I've already said it but I'm looking to keep an eye on Curtis Lazar even at #11. |

I would still give him 5 to 7 years. Money seems more tricky to me then how long we sign him for. |

wouldn't want him to adopt mcnabb's victim mentality. would love if he had a career arc that was as successful, though. - isaiah520
I don't really get the whole nurse and McNabb thing. I mean it could possibly mean something if they were blood related, but they aren't. I feel like the media makes too much out of nurse being his nephew. Just my 2 cents |

Lazar is an intriguing prospect. A big forward with plus speed is a good combination. What about Hagg? I'm not sure he lasts to the second round. |

I think Fucale has the talent to go in the top 15. That said I think he makes the most sense going to Calgary at 22 or 28. Too much depth to take a goalie before then imo |

Curious, what are your top 6 ranked d-men headed into the draft again?

the way mcnabb tried to insert himself into RG III's life was cringe-worthy, so i'd be wary of Nurse being given preconceived notions about Philly as a sports town. not a deal breaker by any stretch, but somewhat wary. |

What I have read about Ristolainen is that he has the potential to make an NHL roster next year. |

I agree about the McNabb RGIII situation. I almost felt embarrassed for McNabb, it was like he was trying too hard to stay relevant.
And I understand why some people would be wary given how McNabb was treated by fans during his time here in philly. I guess I just meant that more recently nurses name has been showing up ad the flyers draft pick in mock drafts with the only reasoning behind it being that McNabb is his uncle. |

Saw the same reports, but I hope they let him play another season in Europe. Just no need to rush him if he is even their pick. |

No sense for the Hawks to buyout Hossa this year unless they can't get under 65M. They can wait until next year to buy him out.
Anyone think Kovalchuk will be bought out next offseason. If he retires at 40, that contracts will be a disaster for Jersey. |

But he needs to he tutored by Timonen so he can be his replacement
But in all seriousness I agree, he should play one more year in Europe. He's played in SM-Liiga the past two years and was markedly better this past year, but he still needs to work on his positioninga bit. |

I'm not a huge fan of Nurse. I don't think he has as much of an offensive upside as others in the first round. |

He doesn't. And with L Schenn and Coburn already on the team we really have no business taking him. If they want another big, physical D man it should wait til the 2nd round or later.
I have a sneaking suspicion he will either end up in EDM or Dallas though. |

Wow anyone who reads this and still wants the guy in town is delusional. - edmac812
You got to admit, very suspicious how Bob started to do well once he left Philly. I have to agree that there is little to no good Philadelphia Flyers writers, I know of none outside of Bill. Don't get me started on the fans......If you go on the Flyers facebook page you see all these dumb comments about Bryz. Lose 1-0 Byz's fault, Opponent gets 10 breakaways a game Bryz's fault. Defence allows cross crease pass for onetimer goal.. Bryz's fault. I agree Bryz has not played as well as he could but last year there were not many games we lost because of him. We lost due to a no show offence or very poor Defence |
