There are other blueprints to follow. Pretty much every team uses Free Agency and trades to build their team. Including the two teams that are in the Finals. - MJL
I used what I consider the gold standard. And you could use those as well. |

No real reason to read anything that Seravalli writes. He is the epitome of a drama queen. - MJL
Stopped buying the paper and he is a main reason why. |

I definitely think building through the draft has to be an organizational priority. But you also need to be continually looking for ways to make your team better. I think it would take one hell of a return that they simply can't turn down to trade either B Schenn or Couturier.

I know, it's just the endless cycle of moves that mostly get them no place & give up assets upon assets.
Just draft & develop..........When you have a player who wants to much you move them or let them go and bring up the next guy in line.
Again example look at the Red Wings they sign who they can to a price they can live with & let others go they can't afford or who want too much.
Their AHL team just wont the title their top 7 scores in the playoffs are between 19 & 24........Already good and loaded with more talent to bring non-stop oh and have made the playoffs in 22 straight years (if I am right) and 4 cups in that time and also lost some in the finals.
That's the standard to follow & yet the Flyers continue to ignore the blue print. - ob18
we're in complete agreement there. i've wanted a change for the last couple of years.

I agree, I'm not dead against moving them but I better be knocked off a chair with an offer. |

Same here, it's very frustrating as a fan to see this endless cycle and them not see it's not working and go down a different road. |

Too soon to tell but I'd imagine it might be too much to get it ready for October. |

I don't know. If the water recedes, they have over 3 months for clean up and repairs.

Yup but also a ton of homes & buildings to repair, hard to think they'll have enough bodies around for all of the work.

Certainly very tragic, how is the infrastructure of the city - bridges, roads, electrical power to the area? With my work schedule, haven't kept up with the details. |

Some Off Topic stuff here, I know....but man...is Papelbon missing his spots lately or what? Yikes
The bullpen was disgusting tonight. Just as bad as last year.
How bout Frandsen's 480 foot moonshot though |

I also haven't kept up. Jesus. It looked like Katrina....I can hardly imagine.
Needless to say, I hope the city is kickin again as soon as possible. |

It's on it's way to the Medicine Hat area, their junior team showed sandbags up against I believe their arena bracing for flooding.

Mother nature is just so unpredicatable. I live in Southeast PA and it was pretty intense when those storms rolled through the area two Thursdays ago. It is just such a hopeless feeling just waiting for the storms to end to assess damage and then the aftermath of seeing how high local creeks and rivers over flow. |

Yeah I hail from Lancaster I know exactly the storms you're talking about. We can't do anything except wait, then clean up.
Luckily, we (as civilization) don't need to clean up much. But when we do....the weather brings disastrous consequences.
As you said. A helpless feeling. |

I'm just hoping NBC gives us another shot of Michelle Pfeiffer. In her mid-50s and still tremendous. |
