Exactly my point. So the agent is far better off making his case privately, if he wanted out. Then to go on a media campaign to force his way out. Which would damage his worth on the open market. - MJL
If he told the Flyers that Bryz wanted out, it would have certainly been leaked. |

What's in that article was new to you to make you say wow?
The author recycled old news and negatively spun them.
Bryz should be bought out due to his unsustainable contract and under-performing stats, not due to his political views and alleged statement from his team mates that
no one can confirm/ deny.
He needs to be bought out after Flyers acquire another goaltender, otherwise they will rise asking price for any goaltender they might be interested in exponentially.
And I am not sure that this off season is feasible to get another keeper to share work load with Mason. - missingmike
The quotes attributed to him make me sick. It's obvious he wants out. And the feeling for me is now mutual. just IMHO.

I was out of work from January to April with PCS. I took a tumble sledding with my kids and had bad dizzy spells and almost non stop headaches. I work in heights, so dizzy spells and vertigo are a major problem. - Jsaquella
That's terrible!
So you still get symptoms here and there?
I don't feel Grossman will be 100% moving forward, he's susceptible to receiving another knock, especially the way he plays. |

Bryz was actually pretty consistent last year. He was consistently average. He allowed very few soft goals, struggled on breakaways, rarely played the puck behind the net and rarely made the dreaded "momentum saves" - PhillySportsGuy
I agree totally that the overall play was not there. But Bryzgalov made a lot of big saves in big spots that kept the team in the game. When they had no business being there and it should've been a blowout. The big problem, is that is a lot of games, the Flyers allowed more golden offensive chances to the opposition in one period. Then a lot of teams do in an entire game. Which greatly ups the odds of not making the save. Sooner or later, some are going to go in.

He's had stretches where he played very well, and then stretches where he couldn't make a key save. I'm including both seasons-his first year was nothing but inconsistent.
Regardless, the office bullpoop is just noise. The bottom line is that he hasn't played well enough, outside of the stretch in March of 2012. |

Thats one of the reasons I believe the Flyers should keep all 8 defensemen. Mez, Grossmann, MAB and Kimmo are all coming off of significant injuries. |
|

|
Bottom line is, does anyone have faith that Meszaros can stay healthy enough to play the role he did here in 2010-11? I don't. He's had multiple shoulder injuries, which is the real concern. - Jsaquella
Everything that makes him special comes from his shoulders. His hits, shot and good hands are what have stood out for me.

Maybe, maybe not. But I think that Snider, Luuko, and Holmgren are honorable men, and would not purposely leak that to discredit the player. The odds of it staying out of the public realm are a lot better doing it behind close doors. Then having his agent go on a media campaign to talk his way out. Either way, telling the team privately, is a lot less damaging to the players rep. Then using the media to talk your way out.

I still get headaches in excessively bright light, and I have issues if I read or watch TV too long, but I wear glasses and that helps quite a bit.
I do have huge concerns on Grossmann and Meszaros. I wouldn't be amazed if they make a couple moves that see forwards going for defense and then sign a free agent forward or two.
Gonna be an interesting summer, for sure. |

Yeah. I know. They're all clowns until they say something you want to believe. Then they're great reporters. There is a reason people speak on condition of anonymity. And if you don't know who it is, you don't know they're reason so you have no reason to believe them. The Flyers may also be playing this game to be sure there's no backlash. It wouldn't be the first time they trashed their own guy to make themselves look like heroes of the people. - bodiva88
Not this particular writer. This is his MO, and frankly, he has zero credibility. So when he attributes an extremely inflamitory quote to a player, based on heresay, I have a problem with that. |

The shame of it is that most people rely on getting their info about the team from the local guys that cover the team. We have people that are unqualified to do so, thus creating an uninformed fan base. - KINGKENZO

I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 more D men here and maybe 2 dealt, after Carter Richards summer nothing should surprise. |

Very possible, although I put equal stock in both seasons, because last year was just 48 games, not 82.
That said, he still wasn't good enough last year for me to want him to remain here.

I don't make comments about you personally. I discuss the subject. Here's the bottom line. If Bryzgalov had a .925 SV% and a 2.20 GAA, and was in the top 5 in Vezina voting. The Flyers brass wouldn't give a rats ass who on the team doesn't like him. Or what asinine comments he makes to the media. That right there sums it up. It's about the contract, and whether his play warrants moving forward. And that is all it is about. It's like dejavu!
- MJL
so there is no connection between his performance, his locker room comportment and his tack w/ the media and thru his agent? these are separate, unrelated aspects of an overall player/team dynamic, right? |

A lot of rumours about Bernier being wanted here. Do we wanna trade for another high upside goalie after we buy out Bryz or do you wanna give a vote of confidence to Mason by signing a solid back-up while losing no assets? Even if we did get Bernier, I think I would consider flipping one. |

Not sure about that, but I always worry when my team has too many question marks heading into a season. Obviously were far from the season, but this team has too many ?s. The one thing I would love to see them add is Adam Hall or a player similar to him. Giroux took more defensive zone faceoffs than any player. He needs more time in the offensive zone. Is there any coincidence that Giroux scored more after the team acquired Hall? |

I'll put it as plainly as I can. The only thing that matters is his play on the ice. And whether it warrants moving forward, and dealing with the long term risk and Cap recapture issues. The rest is childish nonsense. The overwhelming majority of it is from pure speculation and anonymous sources. I choose to deal in the facts and evaluate based on that.

I'd have no issue adding Bernier for the right price. If Bryz goes, they will have to add a goalie, and if Mason can't handle a challenger for the starting job, I'm going to question his ability to win a Stanley Cup, too.
That said, I would not pay a premium for Bernier. He's played 62 NHL games. When Mason was at 62 games, he was being called Canada's Olympic goalie in 2014. Now, he's a reclamation project the Flyers got for a song. Bernier could turn into the next Quick or Rask...he could also be the next Dominic Roussel. |

I agree with you on Adam Hall, he was and is a very good role player, was very effective here in the short stretch, especially that they are not bringing back Fed's I thought they would give him a 1 year. |

I agree 100%. Giroux is a player who as much as possible, should be used in offensive starts. He has to be used in far too many defensive starts. Because of a lack of a second faceoff option.
