So would I...problem being I think one will cost a lot more then the other....just depends how much more. We need Clarkson's style of play but not his asking price. - Canadian kid
Agreed the price will dictate that discussion |

What's his asking price? I know he scored a lot, but Kulemin put up at 30+ goal year and is still at a reasonable price. Leafs are playing his style hockey too so the transition may work. I agree with both of you, def prefer him over MacArthur.
I thought Nonis was big on Mac tho, but he definitely seems like he doesn't care if Mac walks. Would make sense if he knows he's getting his replacement already. |

Just say "NO" to Luongo. - PanthersGoal
Unfortunately, we need a #1 goaltender. Markstrom is not quite ready and he won't be for another season or two. Hopefully Luongo gets bought out and we sign him quickly to a two-three year deal at a much more manageable price.
As far as Ryan goes, it would take more than just him to get the #2 pick. That being said, I'm not opposed to making the trade. I like Anaheim. Nothing against them at all.. they play far enough away so that the only time we become rivals is in the Cup Finals ( ). We shall see what happens.. I'm all for getting Ryan here. |

Now this is interesting.. you're saying should the Avs take MacKinnon, your offer is Hiller, Bobby Ryan, and your #1 pick (I like Fred Gauthier there). Hiller and Markstrom as a goaltending tandem would be very cool. Two Swedes.. I think I make that trade. |

Even I would be all for that package if we could get into the top two. Maybe switch second or third round picks though |

I like Iggy's odds to stay in PITT at a reduced rate to play 3rd line + PP. If PITT also deals Kunitz (which I think is a GOOD thing), Iggy would go to Crosby's wing w/Dupuis. I would also advocate HARD to sign Clowe to replace Cooke, and as a net presence on the PP. |

Explain.. - Panthers88
The Ducks are gonna trade Bobby Ryan and they need to clear up some cap space to fill the roster. I seriously doubt they need 6 million in goaltenders when Fasth is the better goalie to hold down the fort until Gibson matures. With Getz, Perry and Fowler signed long term and Etem looking like he's gonna be great, the last peuce the Ducks really need would be a true star D-man that can help close that gap that Fowler creates will is over aggressive offence. I'd sell the Farm if I was Murray and over pay for a chance to draft the next Pronger. Ryan, Hiller a 1st and maybe even Rakell. |

Which? The one about Markstrom? If you think he is ready to start right now, you're mistaken. He is in no way consistent enough to start in the NHL, especially with a garbage back up like Clem behind him. |

Agreed. Hiller + 2nd overall is a good deal for Ryan...no matter who is there at 2nd. |

His offer is Hiller, Ryan and the #29th pick for our 2nd. And yes, I think it is fair for sure. |

I could see a deal w/PITT for Letang, if PITT would like Ryan. The bidding war will drive up the price, but I could see something crazy like (assuming Letang is signed):
Letang <-> Ryan + 1st + Beauchemin + conditional 1st in 2015 if Ryan isn't extended.

Clarkson's an awesome fit for the leafs! I don't get some remarks on this post;
1. Is he better than Mac?............Uh......YES!
2. Why would we trade for neg rights? That happens every year. Teams give up low conditional draft picks because once he hits the open market, people can and will change their minds, especially when other teams come calling to woo him, and drive the market up. The smart move is to give NJ a cond. pick, work out a good deal for both parties and move on. If he wants too much, you keep the pick and go to plan B
3. Kulimen scored 30 once (was another comment) And your point? Heaven forbid we have two power forwards who are relentless at the forecheck, and tough along the boards. |

Daniel Briere would be a good one or two year rental for Nashville as he would be a great mentor for Gabriel Bourque and Nashville could really use a reliable guy on the right side. He would also give Forsberg one more year to mature before the Preds start relying on him more.
What the Predators could offer: 1) A great area to live in. 2) A good media environment. 3) Ice time.
The main thing missing from this equation is a chance to win a cup. I fully expect Briere to sign a short term deal wherever he goes and return back to the Flyers. |

Where are all the Top Six fowards for Montreal, if Trevor Timmins is doing such a good job in his 10 years here, and why is Montreal after Briere and Iginla if they draft so well?? |

Yeah, I do think Jacob deserves the job, and tell him he has it finally. Let the kid play. If we're all about strength on the "D", and it claims a monster in the draft, then he will be fine. He's supposed to be "All World".. How would we know? By what we've seen so far in the Panther Shooting Gallery? Rehashing Luongo is a foolish move. Give the future the job, and see what kind of mid level veteran we can put behind him. Maybe Theodore, who knows. Kid should get the opportunity, and know it's his job. |
