Our arguement is basically who's better. How would I not be right in that situation

its the only thing that makes sense. say we bring in bernier, have to pay him at least 3 mil to sign with us. if he doesnt win the starting job, and reimer brings us to the playoffs again, reimer is an rfa at the end of the season. if we are paying bernier 3 mil to not play, we would have to pay reimer 5 mil, meaning our cap hit from goalies alone would be 8 mil+, just isn't a logical situation

Yeah but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We don't even know if the Leafs are getting Bernier. I'll believe it when I see it. If they get him and it works out then great. If they don't get him they might bring in another goalie. If they go with Reimer and Scrivens that might be ok. Who knows? They might even use Drew MacIntyre as a backup.

its just more of a reason not to go after him. we would have to sign bernier for at least 3-4 years, if he fails, stuck with him, and have to pay reimer more for 5-6 years. might as well just get a vet back up if anything
