Mabie the Leafs can make it a bigger deal where they can land Kopitar, Than I don't have a problem surrounding the 1st pick, if the Leafs in the end wind up with Kopitar & the rights to Clarkson.
- GCHonda

Maybe you can extend this trade further and get Crosby and then even further for Weber and even further for Stamkos too.

That's about as likely as Kopitar not being in LA next year.

Unless you feel Bernier will push Reimer to be better (and vice versa) more so than Scrivens will then you shouldn't bother trying to obtain him. I know that GM's can't take player emotions in to their decision making, but if you decide to replace Reimer with Bernier after the season he had then what motivation will your other young players have to play to the best of their abilities if you just replace them at your earliest convenience? The ripple effect could be damning in the future.

But what's that got to do with the fact that Kessel won the Kessel trade?

If that's a concern then there are some serious problems in Toronto... Players should be motivated to win a Stanley Cup and to become good enough that the team doesn't want to replace him.

Agreed, that's a terrible culture to have around a team, giving up on youngsters. Reimer deserves a chance to be the #1 goalie for next season. Reimer did EVERYTHING possible for the Leafs to beat the Bruins. Not his fault that the whole team around him froze like a deer in headlights during that tragic 10 minutes.
