I always find your write ups amusing- you consistently that every player on the oilers roster will amount to greatness. Sam Gagner is a nice little player some might argue he might outscore Bozak consistently (although remains to be seen) but he is wanting on other areas...would I take him? Sure but if you think he is worth Gardiner and Reimer- you are insane...unless of course moving up to 7 from 21- seriously ...seriously where do you get off rating Sam Gagner so highly..what has he ever done? Weiss is the same player and he is a uFa....for Phanuef even it would cost you Gagner plus....give me a break |

I wouldn't even consider gagner for gardiner straight up let alone the Leafs having to add more no thanks. - jake24242

Make fun of Leafs fans for hyping Gardiner yet your blogger hypes up Klefbom like he's the next Lidstrom. No way Oilers get Gardiner for a small soft center like Gagner. - Smurfs-A-Joke
dont forget the Harkaainen....but its amusing |

it would be really really hard to find a undersized centre who consistently nets 45 points.... |

Matter of opinion, but I would disagree. - pbrsimps
I only said Gagner Value higher right now because of the amount of years he have already play and show he can produce,Gardiner had only One season with yes great potential but He only have one season under his belt so if He keeps producing the same or better in the next 2 to 3 years then I will said his value is higher but right now Gagner have that advantage IMO. |

I think ganger for phenuf is the trade the oilers are looking at, but only if phenuf signs an extenion. That traded i'd take any day. I still don't see the oilers drafting lindholm he doesn't really fit our need aside from replacing ganger if we trade him and i think that role needs to go to a bigger center. I think nurse or rasmus is more likely. If barkov or monahan isn't there at no 7 and it doesn't seem likely they will be. - deadsector
Lindhom is already about 6'0, 192lbs. Pretty sure he will be able to gain 15 pounds easy by the time he is pro. No problem drafting him to eventually be our 2C. |

Sure. But what does that do our Depth at Center? Lander can only Center 1,maybe 2 lines at a time. |

Yes and no,and no because Gagner is the younger here with a bit more potential,if Gagner had the same age as Phaneuf then yes. |

Mact can't do that trade without having another trade in the works. Hemsky for Zach Smith or something like. the 7th for a veteran C?

This whole thread is retarded.
Firstly, The Leafs are not going to trade Gardiner. As far as they are concerned he is the next big thing among NHL Defencemen. Maybe, maybe not, only time will tell but he no doubt is going to be good.
Secondly, If Mac T chooses to trade Gags it will be only if they can trade for/sign a legit #2/1a Center before hand. He is not going to risk a 18yo rookie like Lindholm or Monahhan ,Anton Lander,Marc Arcobello and Ryan Smyth as his Center icemen to start the season.
Thirdly, if the Oil do land a D via trade, he should be a different type than Gardiner, I would think. A strong steady 2 way guy that can babysit Schultz and cover for his roaming ass is what we need.If that person has a boomer for a point shot I would consider it a bonus.
Fourthly (is that a word?) Why would we trade a Center for a Goalie? Thats retarded. Reimer is good, but better than Dubey? Maybe, but it's not a slam dunk.Nor is the margin worth our only NHL Center either.
What's next? Someone is going to post something about the Oilers D being better than Bostons? - Jeropotato

I don't believe Dion Phaneuf is going to get any better but Gagner at 23 have more potential to improve and be the better player of the two. |

Nope but if the Leaft GM offer that sure the Oil Gm would take that |

Oilers would be smart to move RNH before his value falls. He is the young gun who will fall. The Oilers would be wise to stay away from Dion, he's nothing more than a pylon. |

Then it shouldn't be too hard to sign him for under 4 Million, might as well keep him. |

Thanks for that. No shortage of baseless Troll comments from around the league today, I see. |
