#3 on the team that had the 2nd most GA - TheNugeIsHuge
Yet he was only a -2. And I know its a bad stat but you would think a rookie dman, who isnt that great according to you, would have a worse plus/minus than that. Goaltending was a large contribute to that GA as well. That response also doesnt say that much besides he had opportunity to play those minutes due to the poor defense as a whole. Which is true, but seeing how he took that opportunity and ran with it, playing really well, seems fine to me.
But you would have to really watch him yourself during that season (or any for that matter). Better than any stats. I found him controlling the pace of the game and not getting caught out of position very often while contributing offensively. Even if he did, he skates so well he can get back in position with ease.
I found gardiner's rookie season more impressive than schultz. Schultz was on pace to far better gardiner's point totals, but form what i saw (not tons mind you) Schultz was kind of atrocious defensively. Still a bright future for him, but a lot of work to o in his own end. |

you're drunk.
grabovski had a subpar 48 games in the last 5 years, and he still had more use than horcoff.
have another one. - joel878
Horcoff's a shut down, great PKer. Same contract. Hell, Horcoff even had a better PPG than Grabo.
Grabo's been a good player before this year, but his value is at an all time horrible. I'd be amazed if anyone chose to take his contract on with the cap lowering. |

He's allright. Just a kid, but he can be sorta funny here and there, and overall is only semi retarded. Trust me. We have much worse regulars on here. Or didn't you here that Edmonton has a better D than Boston? - Jeropotato

Pretty ugly contract though. I doubt the Leafs could trade it if they wanted to. I think that was the point. - Jeropotato
Yeah... he's a decent player who had a poor season and was incorrectly used... if he could play every game like he did vs Boston, then people would stop caring about his contract so much.
His contract does suck though |

I do see the Leafs and Oilers making a deal and no I dont see any of the big three moving. if a forward were to move it would be Gagner but I doubt very much a player like Gardiner moves back...not because he is Bobby Orr but because Gagner is not worth it- not saying we cant use him...we could but trading Gardiner would be part of a bigger package to acquire a more prominent centre. (unless the 7th overall pick is involved) in this scenario probably Reimer is involved too.. More likely Gagner for a defenseman like Gunnarson (wish it was Phaneuf) or maybe or a package of Kulemin and Holzer - a player Eakins saw all year long. Gardiner on his own doesnt warrant a star player in return- but Gagner is not a star...sorry his ceiling is 50-60 points - last time I checked we could give 5 million to Mike Ribeiro or Stephen Weiss and keep our prospects |

Yeah, I think we need to find a "Huddy" for Schultz. He will get better, but I think he needs to gamble to be affective. |

don't know if you saw many oilers games. Schultz was playing #2 minutes and his partner was a #5 D man on most teams. His D game isn't great, but to say it's "atrocious" is Pierre Mguire level ignorance. Can't take +- seriously people. |

That has much less to do with Gardiner and more to do with how bad the Leafs defensive game was. Gardiner was only a rookie after all - not his fault. |

Phaneuf for gagner and 7th overall i hope if thats the case

yes. Edmonton is going to give up the 7th overall and Gagner for a crappy over rated Dman that is a year away from being a UFA...

If I were EDM I'd deal for kulemin. Don't see another trade to be made. Both teams needs C depth and D depth. Doesn't make much sense to trade with each other |

What was Vanek on pace for after 20 games?? - Cooshie
gagner played the full season. he didn't cool off and this wasn't an extrapolation during a hot streak.
the last game happened.
not the same at all
the real point is that one certainly cant say gagner could never get over 60 after this season. that's all.
the same as no one can say kessel could never score 50 goals.
both are very plausible. |

TO really should not resign Bozak. He's a fringe 2C, and'll be commanding so much. I saw a chart that showed Kessel plays much better without bozak.
TO should trade his rights and go after weiss or ribeiro - TheNugeIsHuge
Fort he money Bozak wants, I don't want him either...the point was that the difference between Bozak and Gagner is not Gardiner so that trade proposal makes no sense from a Leafs perspective.

Hey! We agree on something! Bozak is nothing special. Saw the same chart I think. I would rather try to sign a solid 3C and put grabo back in a scoring center role. He was just misused last year as a checking center. |

idk. That's kind of like saying EDM could sign ference in free agency and the difference between gardiner and ference isn't gagner.
There's no deal to be made here with gardiner and gagner. Kulemin or mcclement'd be welcomed though |

I think the Leafs should keep him and see if he returns to form save a buyout for next summer if they need to use it.
Hey... I just read Esplen listing NINE (ROFL!) teams that should be interested in Luongo.
