I said kind of.
Also Ference is a top 4 D man on a cup contender. They're probably near equally as good at the moment. - TheNugeIsHuge
Only in your mind...
Gardiner's trade value would be MUCH higher.

No excuses, but here's the reason the Oilers missed the playoffs:
The team isn't good at all in transition, either with the puck or without it. Goaltending was good, but not inordinately timely. We had a bit of bad "puck luck" early in the season, with Hall, Eberle and Nuge simultaneously suffering poor on ice shooting percentages.
Mostly though, we were simply inexperienced. At the three quarter mark, we were one of the hottest teams in hockey and sitting in a playoff spot. Look at the way the leafs went out in game 7: on a larger scale, that's how the last quarter of our season went. Not enough experience.
We didn't make the playoffs because the team didn't deserve to make the playoffs by the way they played.
- Morris
And because we still have Hemsky and Horcoff..(okay I'm waiting to get bombarded by Horcoff lovers)
Still waiting to get Bombarded |

THAT's a hell of a lot closer than Gardiner for RNH? Reaaaally? Just when I thought the leaf fans on this thread couldn't get any dumber.
Please leafs fans. Return to your thread. We will not even mention Gardiner here ever again. He's worth more than Mackinnon at the moment. - TheNugeIsHuge
k well when the rest of the league agrees with us... you keep thinking yoru right |

oh...that's a very saddening post. This guy must be the smartest one in the leafs thread
"Gardiner? Nope. Only if RNH comes the other way. Gardiner's basically a 1st overall pick!" - TheNugeIsHuge
being a first overall means squat if he's played like eric johnson so far.
he's not saying gardiner is worth nuge, he's saying it doesn't make sense for the leafs to part with one of their most talented young players, not to mention biggest asset on the trade market, unless it's in a package deal for a legitimate #1 center, or someone who has the potential to be one.
i bet a big chunk of nhl gm's see nuge fitting that bill, maybe a handful see that for gagner. |

Maybe. Doesn't really matter as all I'm saying is that we wont be spending anywhere near that on a back up for Dubey. - Jeropotato

don't know if you saw many oilers games. Schultz was playing #2 minutes and his partner was a #5 D man on most teams. His D game isn't great, but to say it's "atrocious" is Pierre Mguire level ignorance. Can't take +- seriously people. - TheNugeIsHuge
I said that in my response but it still some sort of indicator whether or not you were scoring more goals or being scored on more often.
I said I didnt see tons, so maybe the ones i saw were just bad moments of him.
Also, I know he was playing a decent amount of miinutes, but he had over 3 minutes of pp time per game.
He has big time potential, like gardiner , but he has some work to do in his own zone. Which i'm sure will happen as he gets more experienced.
I was more commenting on how I was surprised at how well gardiner played defensively too. Most young PMD have a tougher time in their own zone, like I feel schultz had. |

agreed
I think the Leafs should keep him and see if he returns to form save a buyout for next summer if they need to use it.
Hey... I just read Esplen listing NINE (ROFL!) teams that should be interested in Luongo. - Aetherial
I dunno, you gotta figure that's down from the 20-25 teams that were apparently interested this time last year. |

I think RNH has the "potential" to be a top 5 C in this league.Considering we havent had even a top 30 C since Doug Weight I think its understandable that we over-value him a bit. |

Leaf fans know how personally you take it when they appropriately value your Oiler players. The fact is that Gagner's value is not nearly what you think it is. If it were, I am pretty sure he would have been traded 2 and 3 times over by now (he has been on the market for what, that last 2 yrs?).
The reality is, like everything else in life, a value is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. No one is going to give the Oilers what "you" think Gagner is worth - simply because he doesn't have that kind of value to anyone else.

Ya, he was just saying good rookie season and strong playoffs. |

It was that he came up with reasons why nine teams should be interested in Luongo... but once again failed to address the reason why ZERO teams should even be willing to discuss trading for him, so long as they employ a GM with any sort of cognitive ability whatsoever.

Trade value is really all that matters at the end of the day. If it didn't, your 7th overall pick would be worthless. |

Erik Johnson? So when he had a .84PPg in his rookie season, better than the rookie seasons of Stamkos, Tavares, and Hall, he was playing like a bust.
he played this entire season with a torn labrum. Hence the 5% shooting percentage and his season ending shoulder surgery.
Do some homework before you make ignorant, uneducated comments like that bud.
Honestly how dumb leafs fans are is turning me off from this site.
See you all. I'll be back when Gardiner to the oilers trades on these blogs stop happening so I don't have to see dumb sh*t remarks from retarded leafs fans. Whether it be tomorrow or never

This.
A players raw value is not always the same as his value to a particular team. For example, Brad Richards may be getting bought out by the NYR... if he was on the Leafs however, not a chance in hell that they'd buy out a guy scoring at 0.885PPG over the last three seasons...

This is the wrong decade to be stuck with 2 expensive goalies....there's like 35 good goalies in this league. I remember when there was Roy,Brodeur,Belfour,Hasek,Cujo and maybe Kolzig and that's was it.
Remember when we had Mikhail Schtalenkov?Dominic Rouselle? |
