gagner is one year older than gardiner. but of course he's maxed out in potential, while gardiner still has tons of developing to do. - hugefemale dog77
I think its more about how many seasons and games Gagner has had...JUST KEEP HIM, stop trying to force the (frank)ing guy on the Leafs |

Edmonton could do worse than trade for Reimer. Depends on how the draft goes down for them. If they grab Monahan or Lindholm, Gagner becomes an option to deal to Toronto. |

Yeah, it's the same with Gardiner and the leafs.
To assume that Oilers fans are dying to trade Gagner is again the classic Oilers fans == Cloutier == oilers management fallacy so prevalent on hb.
We both like our players and want to keep them. And lucky for us, neither player is likely to get traded. |

Hey, you said he was top 16 in the NHL season, and had room to grow, since he had a lot of potential. I'm not imagining things, just using logic. Not imagining Gardiner's trade value either, you're the same person that accused Leafs fans of being huge fans of Gardiner after a good playoff series, but overlooked the fact that he had a stellar season last season, and actually didn't have that great of a impressive playoff series (Good, not great) - Nastradamus
I said he was 16th in C scoring this year meaning he can be a fringe 1C or great 2C.
Stellar AHL season. Go tell that to Justin Schultz who lead all D men in points in the AHL after 30 games |

Agreed, lol. Gagner's coming off a good season, why mess with something that appears to be working well.
Unless of course they can't seem to agree on a contract. |
|
|
|
So why would they trade a player who's shown the potential to cruise over 50 points when he seems to be valued as a sub-50 point hack? To what end would that be beneficial to the Oilers? - Morris
No, he has nit shown the ability to CRUISE over 50 points because he has never even got to 50 points, Gardnier has shown the ability to EASILY be a top 4 defender, see using hypothetical situations work both ways, and im not saying it is bad trade |

Please explain what this means bearing in mind that Cloutier neither speaks for all oilers fans nor management, and that this rumour came from a leafs writer. |

Moving Karlsson up to the wing may be a good idea, because he sucks crap defensively |

I'm glad you're not attempting to back me up. You have no credibility to me. You just run your mouth about how much you hate hemsky and how bad cloutier is. |

Well, note that I used the word potential and you used the word ability. You naughty boy, putting words in my mouth.
I think Gardiner could very easily become a top 4 defender and I think Gagner could very easily score over 50 points. I don't see what's too controversial about that.
Again, if there's any chance that Gagner could become a consistent 50+ point player, having shown gamebreaking ability at a relatively young age, why would we trade him for peanuts because everyone considers him to be a guy who will NEVER hit 50 points? |

Gagner was on pace for 65P this season...that means nothing to you.
Gardiner gets called up from the AHL for 20 games and he's EASILY a top 4 D man.
Alright. Loud and clear |
