They do have a plan. I actually should of stated that. They go for a quick Band-Aid approach. Its win now mode and there's no patience shown within the organization. - stveshdy
Like when they did that whole rebuild thing? That was just a quick patch-up then? |

I'm hoping for a discount around what Toems and Kane make, so 6.3/yr. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if he gets 7-7.5.
And that would put the flyers in quite the quandry, imo - fecondo
I will do back flips if they can get him at 7M per. |

47 hours and 54 minutes left in Ilya Bryzgalov's Flyers career - Jsaquella

That's one year out of how many?
In the last 10 seasons they go for the patch up job to try and win it (minus trading Richards & Carter). |

just for some perspective:
James Mirtle @mirtle 3m
Just nine players played in Hawks Cup win three years ago: Toews, Kane, Sharp, Keith, Bolland, Hossa, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson and Bickell. |

Those guys are all their best players. They found a way to keep the core together.
Keith and Seabrook are studs on defense.
The offense speaks for itself. |

What do you think Giroux's cap hit will be? - stveshdy
If it's a penny less than $7.5 million, the Flyers get a huge break.
Not only is he averaging more than a point per game over the last three seasons/200-plus games, he's also got 55 points in 50 playoff games.
Those are the guys who get paid, and deservedly so.

Don't quote me on this, but I think, repeat THINK, I saw something like $8.9 million.
I could be wrong. I do know that Corey Perry and Ryan Getlaf signed for identical salaries of $8.25 million per, and it could be argued pretty easily that Claude Giroux at 25 years old, heading into (likely) an eight-year deal, is worth Ryan Getzlaf money. |

Well... whatever it takes you gotta sign Giroux to the 8 year deal. No excuses. |

Im sorry, to me it doesn't matter if he's averaging a ppg. He is average, if that, defensively; and if I'm paying out that kind of money I want a guy that plays his heartb all all 3 zones. I know he's trying to get better defensively, but to get that kind of money, to me at least, you have to be one of the premier forwards in all 3 zones. Again, this is all my opinion. |
|
|
|
First order of business is to get rid of the goalie. Obviously he is a distraction to the team and the players didn't have many good things to say about him (exit interviews) based on "rumors". - stveshdy
Just can't afford that salary for average play especially with that contract length. Just let that contract go before he slips on a banana peel. |
