why the F does WGR keep bringing on Craig Button? Not only was he a terrible GM he cant speak either and what he can get out of his mush mouth is nothing that people dont already know. - hubie
Did Kevin Snow really say that he thinks there is a 60-70% chance of Briere coming back to Buffalo now??
What position would he even fill for us? I am just confused. |

Seasons over . Now WTH are we gonna talk about ? - cabin
My source says that we will probably draft at least two people in the first round and that more than one veteran is being actively shopped. |

I think I am on board to keeping Vanek until at least the deadline.. Just because.. if he is dealt... our top 2 lines look worse then half of the NHL's 3rd lines. |

Actually if Briere doesnt mind not being on a contender it is a perfect fit....he takes a lot of pressure off of Hodgson, Ennis and Grigorenko....not sure Briere can play 70 games. Our forwards can learn a lot from him |

I have heard people saying that
Vanek - Hodge - Briere
could be a nice top line for us next year?
And even heard that Briere if he comes back.. should get the C on his jersey. |

So Horton and Ferrance are both UFA's. How much do they get in an open market? I don't know but I take a look at them both, especially Horton obviously. |

I think Grigs could learn a lot from Briere along with Ennis....
Would rather have Briere then Stafford......not that those are the choices but a 4m a season I know where I would put my money. |

Don't you Sabres fans go cherry-picking your native son. He's ours now.
Seriously, the kid has something special about him and despite some 'bad rep' at times, the kid has grown and is showing more and more maturity. I think he has the potential to be league MVP, score 100 points and win another Cup or two (hopefully with the Hawks).
If he ever does leave Chicago, I hope it is for the right reasons..that maybe he wants to go play for the team he grew up cheering for. The Sabres are the ONLY team I could tolerate our little ball of brilliance playing for and I wouldn't half mind, because for some strange reason my area of the world here in Virginia is loaded with Buffalo people, some of my best friends we play hockey together/against each other and coach together or against each other, good folks and a good hockey town. Would like to see you guys get a Cup. |

Agreed....
As long as Briere doesn't want to break the bank with 5M per season...
Vanek - Hodge - Briere (due to no other top line choices)
Armia - Grigo - Foligno
Ott - Ennis - Leino
Stafford gone... that doesn't look half bad to me. |

Hey man, he's already given you 2 stanley cups share the love
I'm betting he and Toews sign long term and the hawks move some of their veterans to make the cap work. |

#1 overall pick has something special to him!? ya don't say?
lol... if you suck for so many years and load up on top or close to top picks.. you should eventually get a few cups.. and to think that Q was almost fired at one point.

This has 10th place written all over it though. If they're adding, add a lot so that you can at least make the playoffs or subtract a lot so that you can get a superstar in the draft. |

I don't think that Vanek to either of those were ever even mentioned...
Vanek is going to go to a contender.... DET, WSH, ANA, NSH, SJ, STL... type team. |

Remember Darcy's draft conference presser? Told you then he is in on Briere. more likely here than Pitt due to cap issues. Close to where his kids are now. even the island is a choice i bet for him.
EDM looking like they will pick a dman in draft. prolly nurse. IF Gagner deal gets done soon that is. otherwise go monhan or lindholm. if they go D at #7 then we get lindolm, nichushkin or monhan and id love any of them with #8 |
