I think horton is done here and same for groinpeace. They have about 6mm in cap space and still need to sign Tuukka and backup goalie. Have Savard on books which they could move to insurance at some point. kelly and peverly have ntc / nmc. I could see them entertain trades for boychuk but I like him.
Lucic Krecji Seguin
Marchand Bergy Peverly
Spooner Soderberg Kelly
Merlot
Daug
Chara Boychuk
Seids Dougie
Krug Wolf
Bart
Rask
Borat / Svedberg or Vet |

Borat is a UFA. He;s gone and that frees up a little since Svedberg wont get much being a backup.
Jagr's gone
How do we let Horton leave after his run? 5 million a year? is that doable? Bring him back!!!
Kelly was the best player on the ice for us. Peverly was dynamic on the dot a number of times this series and his speed is dangerous.
Tuukka's gonna get at least 6 per.
The 2 ways we get down s wither move Kelly and Peverly, or move Seguin. I think claude views Seguin the way that he viewed Kessel. I can see Harvard moving him for a few high picks and a finisher like Pavelski.
It's obvious that this core works for us and aside from the aging D, just about all the forwards are all in their mid 20's. good problem to have

I can't see Horton staying...too much $ and somewhat inconsistent, but he did score some big goals...will give him that...dog man is filler material...there has to be better options than that....
Claude needs to play his young Dman more...Chara and the German were gassed and that can't happen next year...
Oh... And fix the (frank)ing PP.... |

Twitter machine telling me no buyouts for B's. Need to get rid of Peverley somehow, would be surprised if anyone would be willing to give up assets for him.
Yeti, Krug, Bart in next year? Horton's a gamer but we'd need him to take a pretty big discount. Should be a fun off-season. |

Not a chance Seguin gets moved IMO. Like not even on the radar. 19 already plays a better rounded game than PhiL ever did, I think Julien likes him fine, he needs to play a little smarter but I honestly thought he looked pretty good in the playoffs despite lack of production. IMO better on the whole than 68 & 63. |

Hard to argue he doesn't deserve it. Big $ though. Wonder if they can max it to the 8 years and grind him closer to $6M? |

If true it is big $..don't see bruins have much choice though...I think even chia mentioned it during the playoffs... |

His all around game was good...solid defensively....kinda puzzled why Claude didn't move him back to 2nd line if he was close to getting some goals...
Having said that, he is getting very very well paid to put puck in the net...and he didn't do it... |

Fair point for sure.
If Horton's not back and no major additions I'd look at:
Lucic - Krejci - Yeti
Marchand - Bergeron - Pevs
Paille - Spooner - Seguin
Kelly - Campbell - Thorts
Z - Dougie
Seids - JB
Krug - McQuaid
Bart
Ideally that Yeti is Horton and Pevs gets punted. Like the idea of Spooner with Seguin and Paille IMO earned a top 9 role this year.

I'd say Horton will garnish way too much on the open market to keep him in Boston. Something tells me the Leafs will shell out top dollar for his services.
As it stands:
Forwards:
M.Lucic($6.0m)-D.Krejci($5.25m)-T.Seguin($5.75m)
B.Marchand($4.5m)-P.Bergeron($5.0m)-R.Peverley($3.25m)
D.Paille($1.3m)-C.Kelly($3.0m)-C.Soderberg($1.0m)
R.Spooner($0.87m)-G.Campbell($1.6m)-S.Thornton($1.1m)
K.Daugvins($0.6m)
Total = $39.22m
Defense/Goaltending
Z.Chara($6.92m)-D.Seidenberg($3.25m)
J.Boychuk($3.37m)-T.Krug($1.7m)
A.McQuaid($1.57m)-D.Hamilton($1.49m)
M.Bartowski($0.65m)
T.Rask($6.5m)
backup($0.8m)
Total = $26.25m
Grand Total = $65.47m
That team is $1m over the cap and I didn't even include Marc Savard's LTIR situation.
I think you have to consider moving two current roster guys. My choices would be Peverley and McQuaid. Pair the 3 vets with the three young guys on D. Promote Knight or any upstart in training camp and have faith in your high priced guys to improve on their Offensive numbers next year.
Leaves us a little thin on D, but there will be a ton of vets that can me had for under a mil.

Wonder if PC will consider trading high on #55 or low on #44? Love Seids, but I think JB really passed him by this playoffs.

Boychuk is younger and makes around the same $. He is also a RH shot. Personally I think keeping both is an ideal situation if they truly want another shot at the cup during the Chara era. Seids is UFA next year and will probably get closer to $5m on his next contract so its a tough call.
I'd keep him and lose him for nothing before I'd trade him and lose a proven 30min a night playoff performer. |

Something is telling me the Bruins make space in an attempt to sign Briere. |

Whoa ... wouldn't that be something. Think Dreger or McKenzie tweeted that there is lots of interest in him. Could see him having a pretty good sized price tag.
Re: 55&44 would definitely rather keep both, but looks like something will need to give. Would only be on board if they could get good value back. JB / Edmonton seems like a match made in heaven to me.
I wouldn't hate seeing PC wait it out and try to scoop up a Recchi-esque dirt cheap vet that could play top 9. Wonder if Morrow will command big $? |

For the cheap price Morrow will garnish I wouldn't be surprised if Shero kept him. Briere as you said would likely be too much I just remembered at the deadline talk about Chia being high on him and trying to aquire him on the cheap. |

Also the Paille-Kelly-Seguin line looked good last night. Tons of speed and can play in all three zones. Wouldn't surprise me to see that as the third line starting next year with Peverley going on the right side with Bergy and rat.
That leaves Horton's position open for biz. Can Yeti play off wing? |

Seguin at almost $6 million a year i think has to be on one of first 2 lines...I would try him to replace Horton... |

Plus Bergy needs to be locked up long term....his performance in playoffs guarantees he finishes his career as a Bruin...will be costly tho |

JB was a monster in the playoffs...played tough...scored goals...I would love to see him on the PP more often....with Krug...righty and a lefty...
Jagr and Peverley made me nervous on the right point on the PP... |

Already read a few times Chia and Bergy both fully intend on getting an extention done before next season starts. 8 year Max between $6 and $6.5m a year. That wont have an impact on next years cap obviously. |
