Now that we know that Ference, Jagr and Pandolfo are not coming back the picture gets a little more clear. Either we Move Peverley to sign Horton, or we pass on Horton and package Peverley with someone like Bartowski for another top six RW and resign Redden as a 7th dman. Third option is to walk a away from Horton and stand pat with the lineup posted above and hope Rask takes a slight discount.

Worst case scenario(and quite likely) is that Rask get between $6-$7m and the Bruins are forced to both walk away from Horton AND dump Peverley for some cap relief. That means its show time for both Spooner and Knight, at least until a ways into the season where they can look at trade option to improve the forwards.

Lucic-Krejci-Seguin
Marchand-Bergeron-Soderberg
Paille-Kelly-Spooner
Daugvins-Campbell-Thornton
Knight

Also read on twitter today there are rumors around the league that the Bruins would consider trading Seguin at the draft. What a (frank)ing mistake that would be.

Saw that ... good old Slainte Murphy.

Gotta think after the season Knight had they won't pencil him in just yet. Wonder if a kid like Camara could make a push for 4th line duty? Bump Paille up the lineup.

Only real moves I can see is trading Peverly or Boychuk

Kelly is a keeper. He's solid 3rd liner with awesome PK ability. That is very important. Also a gamer and great teammate. Peverly will catch a good return, he's better than upshall and all these other (frank)s at $4mm.

So, Leafs or Habs for Vinny?

Edit: Apparently Ownership nuked Vinny deals on multiple occassions in the past

Jeff Marek ‏@JeffMarek 8m
Lawton had him going to the Habs for Price, Pacioretty, a 1st and either Subban or McDonaugh.

His all around game was good...solid defensively....kinda puzzled why Claude didn't move him back to 2nd line if he was close to getting some goals...

Having said that, he is getting very very well paid to put puck in the net...and he didn't do it...

- busher

agreed. i also think he gets pushed around way to easily.

$33 million to buy him out...holy (frank)...

I have always liked Vinny but I don't think he is a top line guy anymore...probably will still get big $ tho..not sure he wants to play in Montreal, media attention, 911 calls, riots..that sort of thing...

if vinny wants a long term deal like he just said he is probably going to be on a bad team imo
if he takes $4mil for 2 years then he can play right wing with krejci if horton wants stupid money and decides to potentially not make the playoffs for years again

Someone will give him term. Still a decent player, would think PC would have interest but someone will pay him more than B's can swing.

Clutterbuck available for trade. He'd be a nice fit on L3.

from the i can't believe this is (frank)ing true dept...

A 77-year-old Boston Bruins fan has revealed that the team gave her tickets for life when she said she couldn't afford them anymore.

According to The Boston Globe, Marge Bishop of Gloucester, Mass., has had front-row seats for the Bruins since the late 1960s. Bishop, who worked in customer service for Tupperware for years, and her husband, who works in construction, decided they couldn't afford their tickets when prices of their seats went from $73 to $90 in 2004.

After losing in the Stanley Cup finals, what do the Bruins have to do for next season? Joe McDonald assembles a to-do list. Story

• ESPN Boston Bruins blog

Because Bishop was known around the rink -- Zamboni drivers knew her by name because she gave them chocolates between periods -- the Bruins asked whether she would be willing to move to cheaper seats, but she declined.

Then she received a call from the son of owner Jeremy Jacobs, Charlie Jacobs.

According to The Globe, he invited her to a Jimmy Fund event at Fenway Park, then asked her to join the season-ticket advisory board. Even though the renewal window had closed, he also made sure her tickets weren't released to the public. So the Bishops stuck with them.

When the 2006-07 season came around and the tickets went from $90 to $150, however, that was it. Bishop said they were done. Again Jacobs stepped in, inviting her to a behind-the-scenes tour of TD Garden. He showed her his plastic card that allowed him access to all games and areas of the arena.

"He could go to any game he wanted at any time," Bishop said, according to the Globe. "At first I didn't know why he was showing me it."

Then Jacobs gave her her own card.

"It was the most unbelievable gesture," Bishop said, according to the newspaper. "People just don't do things like that."

She kept the gesture to herself for years but finally decided she wanted the world to know about Jacobs' generosity.

"I'm just a regular person," Bishop said, according to The Globe. "And I've been given this remarkable once-in-a-lifetime gift. It's incredible. It's the most remarkable story."

“It would be an ideal situation. I want to play here forever, and hopefully that gets to happen,” Rask told CSNNE. “We’re going to make [the contract] happen. I’m not really worried that things are going to fall apart because we can’t make it work. Obviously we’re going to have some talks, but at the end of the day we’re going to leave all the [expletive] aside and make a deal that makes everybody happy.”
