It aint easy. I grew up about 15 minutes from the ocean for almost 30 years and now live in the landlocked prairie. Takes a lot of getting used to.

Yeah, tell me about it. Love where my in-laws live in western North Carolina. Beautiful area and dirt cheap. Could never live there though because of the ocean thing ...

The eighth overall pick in the 2007 draft, Zach Hamill, has signed a one-year, two-way (reportedly) contract with the Vancouver Canucks, the club announced today.

The Hamill era is now over....

Meh, he may see a game or 2 in Vancouver but he's likely going to be spending the majority of time in Utica.

Europe / KHL bound very shortly, IMO, if he wants to earn a paycheck playing hockey.

I would love to see Hamill get a regular spot in Vancouver ... That would be great news for Bruins fans

Sounds tempting, but like Toad, I need the ocean near me. And I'm all set with 100-degree + weather all the time.

I grew up in Vancouver so I love the ocean..live in a area with lakes now which is nice, but nothing like the sea....

I'd rather we'd drafted the NYR dead guy than Dorothy.

Cap Geek doesn't have his salary listed yet, but it must be six figures if he's staying on this side of the pond at this stage in his career ...

Providence will miss him.
