I lost count here...how many bad goals were there??

Subban should be sent to the ECHL this season and play a sh!t ton of games ... Not really fond of the idea of him being a #2 in Providence behind either Chad Johnson or Sveddy. Kid looks too green for the AHL even, and sitting for the majority of games there isn't going to help things.

Adam Morrison should be re-assigned to Siberia.

“I thought our backend moved the puck up. I thought we scored some nice power play goals. We had good line changes,” said Babcock. “
- Double_A[We got] caught a couple of times on line changes in the second period, but we had more players dressed than they did tonight. “It’s almost like you should phone the coach in advance, and you should decide who’s playing. No…really…because you want it to be a good level. That’s what you want from both teams.”

Gotta like Babcock.

Yeah, I'd think they'd probably opt for the Bulls over putting him in the E. I don't have a problem with him playing back up in the A either. He's got plenty of time, he's not taking over for Rask any time soon.

Morrow out of the mix early on. Makes sense with Krug, Hamilton and Bartkowski above him. It seems like we went form no D prospects to a bevy of D prospects in one year.

What I took from that game:

Datsyuk is really (frank)ing good

Subban is 19

Nick Johnson is making the team

Jordan Caron is not

Krug is awesome

Detroit may be softer than the Habs and Canucks combined

Is there another 09 1st rounder that we can flip him for? Move a problem for a problem?

Morrow is young and needs more seasoning ... Might as well get him started in Providence early on so he can learn the system.

Agree on the D prospects ... I was ready to write off Bart, but last season something clicked with him and he "got it" all of a sudden. Krug is a sure thing, IMO, for making the full-time leap to the NHL this season. Trotman seems like he'll be on the doorstep in another year or two with Morrow, and Miller is a guy who could certainly hold his own in a defensive defenseman's role if given the chance.

I'm heading into the season pretty confident should we have to tap into the depth due to injuries ... Defense and Forward, for that matter.

Only position where the depth is a little questionable right now is Goal ... Not "sold" on Chad Johnson by any means. I'd like to see Sveddy get a full game to better-guage his NHL-readiness. Looked great during the regular season last year but completely poop the bed in the playoffs

I still think Caron (unlike Hamill) will be an NHL'er ... Just probably not with us.

He has the traits that Chiarelli and Julien covet ... Thick frame and strong on the puck. Kid just can't take it to the next level.

He's still only 22, and that's pretty young in the scheme of things. That being said though, his time to show improvement and an upward turn in development is now. His new contract pretty much spells that out.

It is young, but it also shows Chiarelli's weakness as a GM. His draft record. The organization made a move this offseason to addrss this by picking up Gretzkys kid brother to run that department....which I find curious since PHX has hit on top 10 pics under him, but not much else....and that includes late 1sts, and the rest of their draft classes.

Chiarelli can trade and negotiate decent, albeit somewhat inflated deals and O'Connell had a great scouting staff.

Correct

Wonder if Mike ever gets another shot since he hit on TT and about half of our cup winning team?

Thornton trade ruined his legacy as a GM ...

No doubting his history in the scouting department while in Boston, though. Guy had a big hand in the CUP we won a couple years ago ...

any of you know of any fantasy leagues where people actually trade and where categories are weighted?

I agree....but we got more cups than Joe.....and the parts we got for him helped to get Ference in the next move.

Tim Thomas should even that out for him....not that he wasnt a total d!ck to Berard, Gill, and Khristich

Yep, I think those 3 should be the rotation for the 3rd line there with Kelly. Like all 3 better than Smith so far. I also though Lindblad was terrific in a no-flash/safe/smart sort of way.

Caron wasn't bad, but he sure didn't do anything to separate himself.

Thought everybody looked solid tonight, no real complaints.

Bruins close to final roster
Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff September 25, 2013 12:36 PM

By Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff
The Bruins have completed practice at TD Garden and are traveling to Winnipeg this afternoon. They will play the Jets in Winnipeg tomorrow. The rematch is Friday in Saskatoon.

The Bruins’ opening night roster is most likely set. Here is the lineup from today’s practice:

Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Jarome Iginla
Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Loui Eriksson
Carl Soderberg-Chris Kelly-Reilly Smith
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton
Matt Fraser-Matt Lindblad-Nick Johnson
Ryan Spooner-Jordan Caron

Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk
Dennis Seidenberg-Dougie Hamilton
Torey Krug-Adam McQuaid
Matt Bartkowski-Kevan Miller

Tuukka Rask
Chad Johnson
Niklas Svedberg

* The third line, which had two openings before camp, appears locked up. Carl Soderberg and Reilly Smith will be Chris Kelly’s wings. Soderberg could see time on the No. 2 power-play unit. Smith could see some penalty-killing shifts like Rich Peverley did in previous seasons.

* Matt Bartkowski projects to be the No. 7 defenseman. Bartkowski and Torey Krug have been very good in camp. Krug’s power-play touch, however, gives him the edge over Bartkowski. Krug will be the quarterback on the No. 1 unit.

* Chad Johnson is the likely backup goalie.

* The final fight is for the spare forward position. Nick Johnson and Jordan Caron are the two likely finalists. Both would require waivers to be assigned to Providence. Matt Fraser, Matt Lindblad, and Ryan Spooner are on their entry-level deals.
