The #Bruins are reportedly discussing a deal w/ the Flames that would send Seguin to CGY, and the 6th draft pick + John Gaudreau to Boston.

Christ

If that's the case Chia better be damn well certain his mystery UFA is a slam dunk to Sign or our toP two RW went from Seguin and Horton to Peverley and Thornton?

wonder if the hip "issue" plus overall not willing to get dirty enough + cap is what brought all of this on
guy i know has seen a good bit of goodreau, said he has sick talent but not a no brainer..yet
i would want higher than a top 6 but if they need the space..

bobby ryan would be a nicer fit

I'd love bobby Ryan.

Glencross would look good on the third line as a throw in

this guy is intriguing, supposed to have some laziness to his game

Valeri Nichushkin

Valeri Nichushkin is the prototypical power forward. He is 6’4” and will play his pro hockey well above 200 pounds. Blazing speed and an ability to score big goals in the most important games complements his size. He will get stronger and even more intimidating as he begins to train like a pro player.

The more I read the more I'm convinced seguin is a goner tomorrow. Better hit a homer Chia. Tempting fate here.

More smoke than there was around Kessel. Blowing my (frank)ing mind. Do not like it one bit. PC is a terrific GM but he's playing with (frank)ing fire here. Whole right side of the forward corps could be gone.

Would be an awesome prospect if not for LRS and the KHL factor.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he does it for picks/prospects and signs briere short term to compensate the numbers.

Didn't like the Kessel trade at first(like most of us here at the time) but I like this one even less if it happens. Seguin is young and prone to mistakes but if they keep him with Bergeron he will be a stud.

That Flames rumour, if you follow the tweets, is essentially a Flames blogger deciding that Gaudreau is the only propsect the Flames could afford to include in a deal. So basically conjecturing that Flames probably have interest because B's are looking for a top 10 pick and Gaudreau is the best piece they could afford to tack on, because ... let's face it ... Calgary is awful.

finally.

Both players I've liked a lot here, no doubt. Both had off years. I think for the extra .2 mil(??) Peverley has the same or similar pk and smarts and FACEOFF!!!! abilities as Kelley with a big edge in offensive upside.

Some very surprising sh!t I'm reading here.

Seguin damaged goods? If not we gotta give him some time, upper line time, to prove himself.

Will see what happens...he had a poor playoff as he didn't score goals and I'm wondering if teams just called Chia to see if any interest vs Chia shopping him...

It would have to be a big return for this to happen...

@NHLBruins: GM Peter Chiarelli said he was "surprised" when he learned from Horton's camp that 18 would be testing the free agent market ^CS

Yeah...not too many better franchises to play for right now in Boston...

PC presser says had teams calling re: Seguin before Horton news, kind of died off. So would seem like a whole lot of nothing at this point.

NEWARK, N.J. -- The Boston Bruins appeared ready to shake things up Saturday on the eve of the NHL draft.

All confirmed by sources:

* Nathan Horton's camp informed Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli on Saturday afternoon that the UFA winger was leaving the organization.

“Nathan Horton has informed the Bruins that he is going to explore his options via unrestricted free agency," agent Paul Krepelka reiterated to ESPN.com, a statement that he first gave to TSN's Bob McKenzie.

* Tyler Seguin’s name was making the rounds in trade chatter, the Bruins willing to listen.

* The Bruins would like to move up in the draft.

* And add Boston to the long list of teams that have inquired about UFA center Vincent Lecavalier.

The Bruins have a lot of balls in the air, a rival team executive told ESPN.com, and they are talking to a lot of teams about a lot of things. Chiarelli was spotted at one point Saturday chatting closely with Lightning GM Steve Yzerman. Could it have been about Seguin? Hard to say. Or maybe Chiarelli was getting a scouting report on Lecavalier. Or maybe they were making a dinner date.

Do you guys think Seguin will live up to the contract?

I don't.

Horton....I'm a little surprised about this. Thought he liked it in Boston. He thrived in the spotlight.

I think I'm really surprised that they aren't giving the Bruins the right to match. It's not even "testing" free agency. it's elevated to leaving the organization. but it's not about the money....which means it's about the money. Or, he wants a system where he can open it up with better weather for his wife to wear less clothing.

I think he will, yes. I'm not really disappointed in his progression to this point to be honest. Pretty sure he's the B's leading point scorer over the past 2 seasons, not sure what else could be asked.

He's playing in a balanced line up. Were he on TBay, Edmonton, NYI, he'd have better numbers because he'd have been forced to play a bigger role.

Horton very weird. I'm guessing someone put a bug in his agents ear that said "hey, you know we'd be willing to pay someone say LIKE Nathan Horton $6M were he to reach UFA ... in theory". Nate and his agent know B's can't pay that much, he says "its not for the money" .... but we all know it's for the money.

I would love to know the reasons for Horton's wanting out

re Seguin..unrealistic 2nd contracts come with unrealistic expectations
if the hip thing is a chronic issue then i am much more open minded in moving him

he needs to stop the partying and take this as his (frank)ing job..no idea how you can't with guys like bergy and chara in the room
who knows if the nights out is just rumors too

is he untouchable, not to me...but i want a guy like bobby ryan in return

if horton came back it was clearly easier to think about the move..with that most likely done with they would have to get a top flight rw in return who needs a change of scenery
