Would you guys consider trading Marchand for Moulson if he signed an extension for similar money?

All signs seem to point to it. Likely for a second/third pair "thick" veteran Dman.

Marchand has been fantastic but it wont last. He's a step below being a consistent goal scorer so whenever he is on a roll I always feel like its the perfect time to deal him off to get a maximum return. And of course I think he would make a perfect Sabre.

One thing I do truly admire about Marchand's game is his work ethic and PK abilities.

Nope, Moulson wouldn't produce the same here and doesn't bring the wheels, tenacity or defensive prowess Marchand does. Douche or not, Marchand is a better player.

he's a 30 goal scorer each year he's been in the league. not sure why that would not translate in Boston.

Marchand is very tenacious for sure but i think his defensive prowess comes from playing with #37.

Agreed that generally players lose some of their offensive stats based on the way the Bruins play but I think he could fit that Horton role pretty good as a big Body pure goal scorer. Horton never played a playoff game in his career until he got to Boston and he excelled. Ether way its never going to happen, just bored hockey talk.

In Buffalo he's currently on pace for 21 goals over 82 games. He benefitted from playing with Tavares for 3 years and being on a team with literally 1 line to rely on for scoring depth.

He's a fine player, but a player coming from a system where his numbers are what they are because he gets the benefit of playing huge minutes in all offensive situations to the Bruins where he'll be in a rotation of 3-4 lines, you're going to see a decline in production.

Just like you see in reverse with Seguin.

I love ripping Marchand because he's a spoiled little millionaire brat who had his path paved for him by Daddy greasing the wheels of Nova Scotia minor hockey and out of our top 6 he would be my first choice to go. That being said I wouldn't be against seeing what he can do one more time in the playoffs.

He obviously had a terrific rookie playoff campaign but has been quite lack luster the past two years with only 5 goals in 29 GP.
