Given Tuukka's age I think we're in good shape. Not that I'd flip Subban for a rental, but I wouldn't hesitate to move him in the right deal.

My point was the right deal right now would only be prospects for prospects unless we started adding in roster guys.

BOS trades Carter Camper to CBJ for Blake Parlett.

Don't know anything about this guy but the last time we poached an unknown defenseman from Columbus, it was Adam McQuaid.

I'm guessing that this trade was precipitated by all of the callups to Boston and now the latest injury to Morrow (which looks serious).

I'm cool with it. Helps free up somewhat of a logjam at forward, and Camper was on a fast track to nowhere with the Bruins organization. Maybe this Parlett kid blossoms here ...

Morrow headed to Boston tomorrow to be evaluated by the team doctor. He left the game the other night with some kind of lower body thing ... Had to be helped off the ice. Didn't look good.

Camper is a good player ... Probably a borderline-type though who will have more of a chance to crack the Columbus lineup than he ever will with us. He lacks the size and coveted "thickness" that the Bruins like, and just doesn't have a component like Spooner does in his game worthy to keep him around and overlook the size and semi one-dimensional aspect of his game. Camper was at a dead end with the Bruins organization... He's also on a 1-year contract, and I doubt the Bruins would have given him another one of those ...

The D corps in Providence is certainly hurting right now ... Miller and Warsofsky in Boston, Trotman and Morrow injured. I'm sure this probably precipitated the trade, but Chiarelli does have a knack for finding quality under-the-radar defenseman (McQuaid, Boychuk, Krug, Miller, Bartkowski, etc.).

No risk, high reward type of deal. Worse thing that happens is that Parlett doesn't pan out. Much like Camper didn't with us.

Wonder what the hell the Bruins are going to do with Caron?? I can't see them re-upping him and he has very little trade value.

Do they keep him for depth during the playoffs and let him walk?
