Is he an aging star, with his best years behind him, who can be framed as a "savior"?
If so, he's the perfect fit. - Tomahawk
I'd be cool with Luongo if he is brought in under a new contract.
I do believe in Mason, and Stolarz does look a little promising. Luongo is another puck-handling goaltender that can be a good mentor for a few years, and allow the Flyers to see what they have in Mason/Stolarz. |

The math is sound - they are paying Bryz 2/3 of his remaining contract value. It's the fact that he's being paid for doing nothing that's the problem.
No doubt, Flyers are a cap-limit team. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that if done smartly.
I'm hoping they realize there's a lesson to be learned here. - wolfhounds
Oh, there's a lesson to be learned. I just wonder if the right people have learned it. |

Yea I think he's getting bought but maybe they have another trade in the works and gillis told homer he plans on buying out luongo so maybe the flyers have permission to talk to him |

How can you learn a lesson in this instance? They're buying their way out of it. If there was no amnesty, then they would learn their lesson |

Think it will go something like this....."How do you know for a fact Homer had said conversation with Bryz this morning? What are the facts that you can prove that support Bryz being bought out? Blah Blah...." - flyerfan28
if I had the house pet energy, I'd post the pontification about how a buyout was not inevitable. |

I dont get why Lou would want to come to Philly after this Bryz disaster? - vejim
Pro athletes are funny, though; they always think that they could be the guy to get the team over the hump.
Philly has a pretty good reputation in the league - maybe not for goalies specifically, but overall.
If he's bought out, my first guess is he'll beg the Panthers to sign him (and be willing to take a small contract).
If the Panthers aren't interested, Philly looks pretty attractive. |
