Some of those GM's that work miracles on shoestring budgets become disasters when the checkbook is bigger. Look at Sather, roundly praised as a genius in making the low cash Oilers competitive, comes to NY and spends like a drunken sailor with a foot fetish |

Homer is a good GM. He has a weakness in the contracts he signs, but he's good at most other things. Getting a new GM doesn't guarantee that you get a better GM, and I don't think we'd necessarily be getting a better GM by firing Homer. - JAKEw1234
his failure in goal and developing top 4 d may indicate otherwise. i think he's on a slightly longer leash than lavi, but that's it. must deliver an ascending team this yr. contrast CHI and the flyers since 2010. who did a better job of re-tooling a SCF team? |

Holland yes. Maybe Schiarelli. The others are just benefiting from lots of crappy seasons in previous years and higher/luckier draft picks. - BringBack25

So right now the offense looks as follows...
Hartnell - Giroux - Voracek
Simmonds - Schenn - Read
_______ - Couturier - ________
Rinaldo - Talbot - Rosehill
An UFA's out there that would fit that third line role on Couturier's wings?
Defense...
Timonen - Coburn
Streit - Schenn
Grossman - Meszaros
Definitely need to continue to upgrade the defense. I do like the streit signing though.

No comparison really. Fantastically talented team now who hit rock bottom and stuck with their core guys.. drafted awesome D and then brought in complementary pieces including tenders. We've now turned over our core players but they were not as talented as Kane and Toews clearly.
Also some luck went their way..they got Kane and we got JVR.. Imagine if that had gone the other way? |

You can't blame him for not trying though. You could say that Bryz and Bob were both victims of the coaching and fanbase. He's tried alot of things to help our goaltending, so I wouldn't blame it on him. And the defense? Well fine, our franchise has a weakness. Most franchises do. Maybe we can start to turn it around by drafting Pulock this year. |

Not saying it is the only reason, but can you imagine if we won the draft and got Kane? Danny could have been gone earlier for a nice return package and who knows what happens.... To quote Burke, "they won a f''in draft!" |

Why you guys HEFF no Respeck for Bryz, I bet he goes back to Phx and wins a Vezina |

Zadorov is #11 on McKenzie's TSN's final top 30 ranking list

Wow, Pulock at 23! If you look at all the other opinions at the bottom of the profile they are all over the place. Maybe trading down is the right move not much consensus out there. |

So what is the consensus on Nurse? No shot at #11 right? Will need to trade up to get him? |

If by Phx you mean CSKA Moscow, and by Vezina you mean Golden Helmet, then you're spot on. |

I'd rather have Pulock than Nurse. Imo Nurse will be a carbon copy of Coburn. |

TSN's final mock draft on for those who can watch it. |
|

Oh screw it! I'll get on the Ryan Pulock bandwagon myself. Decent numbers as a puck mover. Right handed shot. Pretty good size, not great but enough. |

His offensive awareness/hockey sense, shot and passing skills are unmatched by any defenseman in the draft as of right now. It's a no brainer. |
