Now, maybe we'll see a guy out there as a CBO, but there's very few good defensemen on deals in jeopardy of cap recapture penalties for their current teams.

One example is Brian Campbell, but using the capgeek calculator, there's zero penalty if he retires early. Mattias Ohlund could be a CBO, but he's not as good at carrying the puck as Streit.

Vancouver has a lot of work to do with its cap. The Flyers have been associated with having interest in Edler. I gotta believe if they want a gritty scoring forward, they would ask for Simmonds over Hartnell because he is younger and cheaper.

Even if the Canucks buy out both Booth and Bobby Lu, they're still not going to be in great cap shape. If they are going to make changes to the roster trading salary without getting as much back will be an important factor.

I have never heard anyone say they want someone fired because they don't like him. I had not seen that on the Flyers' board before, with regard to coaching. Not quite like that.

carle's a better plyr who doesn't come w/ the 35+ trap. signing streit proves we missed out on carle. schenn was acquired as a reflex trade when carle left...and we still need a puck mover cause streit will be the poor man's kimmo when timmonen leaves. right now, a bit of a mess, cause we still would likely move couts or schenn for yandle or shat.

35+, yeah, that's one area where Carle has a distinct advantage.

We didn't "miss out" on anything great in Carle imo....maybe miscalculated on the team's needs in retrospect, but can't blame them for going for it with Weber/Suter and for not foreseeing injuries decimating the starting defensive corps over the course of the season. Having Carle around instead of possibly bringing in superior players in Yandle or Shattenkirk doesn't seem like it would necessarily be a positive thing...tough to say for sure.
