What happened to MAF? How did he get bad so fast? - stveshdy
man if only i had the friggin answer. the guys head is just all fouled up. the talent and ability are still there. i just think he is too far gone to find himself again. he needs to start over on a crappy team in which the playoffs are just a romanticized idea.
although then hed probably play like his stellar self, somehow take them to the playoffs, and then start the cycle again. oh the humanity
Agreed. Money is not a problem for Comcast Snidercore. Keep the kids we have and let them build a dynasty. (too ambitious?)
We're about to add a big piece on Sunday and I am so f'n ready! - wolfhounds
Yeah I'd be pissed if they traded any of the young forwards to get a player with a contract like Streit, but they needed some pieces on D and this one cost a future 4th rounder and $$$, not younger players. Can Homer stay patient and block Snyder out?
i believe its sort of like the mentality when you just accept something that you know annoys the hell out of you, but you just shrug it off anyway. sort of like a 5 million dollar goaltender who doesnt have the self confidence to piss straight anymore in the poststeason.
at least your situation is a little less cloudy than yesterday, simply via subtraction. and cap savings to boot!
haha our starter doesnt get a buyout, he gets a pat on the back and told to try again next year. i may be just a tad bitter - stayinthefnnet
who's your goalie coach?
clearly his issues are all mental err I mean in his head

In thinking abot it a bit, I think this is the perfect opportunity to make up for the Bryzaster contract by doing what they should have...signing a veteran stop gap goalie to a 2-4 year contract...gives time to see if Mason is legit and guys like Stolarz, Heeter to mature and develop. So, yeah, I'd be looking at:
Luongo - only if bought out, would go as high as 4yrs & $4m/per Backstrom - 4yrs (prefer 2-3) /$4m max
Thomas - 2 yrs max (prefer 1 yr option), $4m max
Emery - 3 yrs (pref 2), $2mil max - exlund
hope they don't turn their heads this weekend - isaiah520
yeah I'll be pissed if they start trading assets for older contracts. Much different than a UFA contract. Pick the best player at 11 or get Columbus' 2 highest picks.

I hope so. And we will be finding out the answer to that question much sooner rather than later. Thankfully.
streit played ~350 pro gms before that. carle's a better plyr and would have been a better move. - isaiah520
That's debatable. Streit is a better puck carrier, stick handler and passer, a better shooter, better PP guy. He has been on of the top few point producing D man for the past 5 years and has consistently out produced Carle, by a wide margin, often while playing on teams with less scoring and supporting talent. Defensively, Streit can be solid...but his D game can become suspect at times, so I give Carle somewhat of an edge there...but Carle is no stalwart and has his own issues defensively...net net, I take the distinct advantage Streit brings to the table in offense and puck moving, for less money, and live with the small defensive disparity, if any, over Carle.
hmm... well its a shame he is young and not inordinately old, or else id offer you guys up a top flight d prospect for his rights for a few months! - stayinthefnnet
Even the best GMs gamble and lose once in a while.
