If I have to pay to get a ticket, do you guys think it's worth going to the NHL draft? Has anyone ever gone before and could comment on their experience? |

So St Louis trades Oshie for Miller, taking on 2.075 million in the process and the tries to re-sign Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, Stewart, leave enough money for Steen and Bouwmeester, and juggle a four-headed goalie monster of Halak, Elliott, Allen and Miller? |

I really don't understand why some choose to almost obsess over what is or what is not in Garth's blogs.
Apparently he is doing his job well. Very well.
Just look at all the hits.
Garth, I'm laughing with you. |

I went when it was in Buffalo in '98, they had some cool events outside the arena for kids, the draft seemed rather uneventful, but as a younger kid it was cool to see everything up close. I don't think I'd pay to go to one though |

The funniest part is that most non-Buffalo fans that comment have been on the site for years...like this is something new with Garth blogs |

Bernier. A 24YO potentially great goalie. Gets dealt for a backup goalie, a 3rd liner, and a 2nd round pick....
So a 33YO. Getting paid 6.25M. Who played slightly above averagely's value is going up?
Dear god |

serious question, is the list of players that garth HAS proposed in a miller trade, longer or shorter then the list of players he HASN'T proposed in a miller trade?
you gotta give it up garth, NOBODY is gonna trade a quality, young, top six forward like oshie, for miller.
it's not a knock on miller.....he's a good goalie.....but face it, he's older, expensive, and is coming off of a couple of average years. people aren't gonna look at his "vezina years" when they make offers for him, they're gonna look at the last 2 years, when he was average, and a giant PR distraction.
i imagine at this point, miller's value isn't that great. |

Nicklas Backstrom, who's played around Miller's level just got signed to a 3.42M dollar contract. So 6.25M, one year from UFA, Miller is worth a stud like Oshie.

maybe. u cant say this for sure. anything other than showing the actual staggeringly good numbers he did put up is pure conjecture. - hugefemale dog77
Sure but to say he would repeat or even come close those numbers in Philly is as well.

We have a deep pockets owner, he will eat part of Miller's salary if need be to enahance the return to the Sabres. |

And Bernier could be in the minors in 2 years, he really hasn't done anything to say he will be an elite goalie in the NHL.

You people are unbelievable. Ryan Miller is continually at or near the top of the league in even strength save pctg, which most advanced statisticians believe is the best indicator of a goalie's ability. His GAA was unter 2.00 over the final 30gms of the season last year, and most importantly, the Sabres can retain a large portion of his salary in any deal, making him an affordable, accomplished goalie in a market with no similar options. Get a grip. - truthbluth
In 2010-2011, 2011-2012, and 2012-2013, Miller has been .003%, .002%, and .003% above league average SV% respectively.
GAA is irrelevant. That's a team stat. But if you're gonna use it to defend Miller it works badly the other way. 2.81GAA |
