Miller has hardly deviated from his Vezina season performance. The team as a whole hasnt been as good both on the PP and the PK, and thats what hurt his overall numbers. Hes one of the best goalies in the league at even strength. Hes the reason the Sabres havent been drafting like the Oilers have for the past 5 years.

And whats this "giant PR distraction" all about?

Miller absolutely has good trade value, he is the best available option for goaltenders at the moment. His numbers aren't mediocre, he plays on a team that had IMO the worst defensive play in the league and faced significantly more shots on average than any other goalie in the league. He showed even this past season that he has the ability to steal games for a team that had no business being close.

For those worried about his cap hit, stop being dumb, we can and will take back up to half of his salary making Miller a bargain.

I'm not going to go all Garth saying ridiculous statements about getting absurd assets, but he really will get a good return if not simply because of the sheer number of teams looking for reliable goaltending. Only Miller and Luongo have that reliability and proven factor and are available.

Philly trolls go home, you are butthurt from being completely burned by Bryzgalov. If you don't want Miller fine, but you had best sign someone because you are completely F'ed for backstops.

Realistic landing places for Miller I see are Islanders, Capitals, or Oilers.

Edmonton fans I seriously don't understand why you wouldn't want Miller, a solid goaltender and a D-man would put your team over the top. Not speculating what we would get back, just saying.

- rsj2588

we have a solid goaltender that put up better numbers behind at the very least a comparably bad defence. all at half the price and we hope he's still getting better.
and goaltending is about our 5th biggest need. our tradeable assets will be going to much more pressing issues.

sorry guys, my record seems to be broken

I had Center Ice so many of their games were carried in the 2nd half of HNIC because they had a lot of interesting players much of Canada wanted to see.

That's different than most BUF fans catching oilers games, let alone wanting to watch them.

It doesn't matter because Miller will never agree to go to Edmonton so this argument is mute.

Sabers would be luck to get one of the Blues current goalies and maybe Perron or Berglund. Blue's dont have their 1st this year and Oshie is too much for miller. Taransenko is also pretty much untouchable, the kid is a stud.
- Meeqsb

Oshie is 26, injury prone and has never eclipsed 60pts or 20 goals. He is a good player but he is over rated. It's not like he is 22-23 and on the rise, he basically is in his prime at this point

Even at 5th most pressing, I think the need is for an up and coming backup or 1a, not an out and out starter on the back end of his career.

It's not that we don't want EDM to get Miller. It's that EDM doesn't need Miller and for some of the prices suggested here, I'd light EDM on fire if they dealt such assets for him.

BUF had the most SA/G. EDM had the 2nd most SA/G. Can't tell me Miller was peppered with too many shots people. Dubey faced .5 SA/G less and performed better this year. For those that will get pissy right now, not saying Dubey is better than Miller because he's not, but the separation at this point is not enough to deal assets let alone the huge assets some fans here expect (see: gagner+7th overall )

I used this a couple days ago, but I don't care:

Argument Destroyer: Buffalo and Edmonton will both trade half of their rosters to COL for the #1 pick, and select Nathan Mackinnon. The halves of our franchises will join to create the Edmonalo Oilres. They'll play somewhere between our 2 cities in a neutral site like Duluth, Minnesota. With Easy MacK as our captain, we will go 82-0, and sweep the entire playoffs to win the cup. THEN, we'll live happily ever after.

it's everything else he brings. along with the ability to get a decent amount of points. and 26 is far from him on a downward trajectory.

EDM's SV% this year was 7th. Tied with VAN, DET, and TO. Starting goaltending is literally the least of EDM's worries

Listen I don't love Miller but saying that Bernier is better is absurd.....Bernier has been the recipient of a great team and his upside is unknown....It is more likely that Bernier could be the next Roycroft or Toskala as opposed to the next Bryzgalov(Phoenix era)

Miller has been an above average goalie or a subpar team......The last year he had good defense was ironically the last year he was a Vezina winner...

I would too no doubt. He plays like Taylor Hall with that reckless style. But people are acting like he's this top line center
