Do you know what was a good line last year? Hall-Horcoff-Yakupov. Seriously, a defensive conscious that stayed out of their way and tried his best to get into good position.
Gagner is a thinker who likes to make decisions. Using him with Hall and Yaks isn't a good use of his possession skills.
My favourite use of Gagner last year was PRV-Gagner-Yakupov or PRV-Gagner-Hemsky. It needed a bit more mean and defense though, so throw Kulemin or Clutterbuck on the RW there and watch magic happen. - Morris
agreed. whole heartedly.
we were running 3 comparable lines during that stretch with horcs/hall/yaks as our 1st?2nd?3rd?. |

if the Vanek to Caps has any legs to it, what would be the desired return? |

your argument was that he's too one dimensional and you can't win a cup if you're too one dimensional. Kane is extremely one dimensional. Gags was just 16th in C scoring. Does that not make him a 1C? Is a top 30 C not a first line C? - TheNugeIsHuge
Ganger isn't a 1st line center, and he is a 1 dimensional 2nd line center which makes his value to a team weak. He has never scored 50 points so he is a moderate point producer at best and while you can extrapolate statistics for a shortened season he has yet to consistently prove he is anything more. He also plays with world class wingers that elevate his numbers. He has a disadvantage in size so he can be pushed around in both zones. His FO% is awful and he is an average 2 way player at best.
Those are all reasons why I don't think Ganger is a good player and he doesn't bring nearly enough to a team to warrant the money he will ask for and also why I would consider him a below average 2nd line center at best. He is ineffective at a majority of the responsibilities of his role and doesn't make up for them in other areas. If you are a team trying to win the cup Ganger isn't going to cut it, he is no more than a depth player who will be over paid imo.
Kane is a 1st line winger with skill in spades and speed to burn. He is an elite scorer and usually comes close to doubling Gangers numbers. However as a winger its Kane's job to put up points and he makes up for his size with insane puck handling and speed. He also has incredible puck possession skills.
The two players are not comparable. Your argument is nothing more than Facile. |

Or you could just sign Lou when he is bought out.
The 11th and Read would be more than enough for Miller. |

I'm not going to like it but i think Kuznetsov will be part of the deal ..
why i don't like it too much risk he said he would come over in 2014 but who knows
some KHL team might give him 10M a year |

I offered the 2014 first, the 11th pick will not be traded for Miller. I agree though we can just wait for the Nucks to buyout Luongo. |

Wouldn't you think a Center like Backstrom would be better for the Sabres with Vanek on his left? |

You really think that any team will offer more than Read, 2014 first and Coburn for Miller?
I'd offer more if Myers was involved... |

This team is bad with Vanek as of now, it would be worse without him. |
