I think it's a real possibility. He wants to be where his kids are familiar with. So either somewhere near Philly like The Rangers or Islanders or back here. I have heard Montreal but he turned down more money and went to Philly. Buffalo is a real possibility

Because they are. Why else would Darcy have publicly said that he wants to know what there intentions are in the future as to if they would resign or not? It's because if they cant get them resigned they will trade them instread of lose them. I have no sources but would guarantee they are pursuing trade options. Why wouldn't they?

I was talking about that to some people earlier, basically, someone would acquire Ryan Miller as a "Drew Bledsoe" type scenario (except the Sabres didn't have a hall-of-fame backup that took them to the promised land). I was told unanimously that Miller wasn't a big enough name for that.

That deal is earth-shaking. There is a lot in play. I don't think that Phoenix would trade Samuelsson, he is their best prospect in an area they desperately need help in.

There are 29 other teams in the league. If a few teams want Vanek, then they have to outbid each other and that bid might force them to deal on or before the draft with a 1st round pick. That 1st round pick would be in the 20's. And who says the sabres willl only deal vanek for a 1st round pick in the package? There are just a lot of deals done at the draft, it might happen before, or during the draft but it better happen sometime in the summer so the Sabres get the best return.

The Sabres would never get that much in that trade. They wouldn't get Yandle alone let alone a 1st as well. I'm surprised you posted that, you are usually spot on.

I think Yandle for Miller straight up is very possible. Id want more honestly for Miller but I tend to think Miller is better than some think

He ended up Getting Colombus a late first and Jack Jonson later in the season.

Rick Nash got a 1st, and 3 roster players over the summer.

Dealing Vanek at the deadline also limits the amount of teams due to his cap hit. Over the summer teams can adjust their roster if aquiring Vanek is a move they really want to make
