no. in a weak/average draft year maybe, but not this year and next year we host the draft - flyerscup2011
I don't think Philly would move 11th overall unless is really got them out of cap jail. I think Ryan will go to either Anaheim or Washington for a 1st this year and a mid level prospect.
Nobody thinks that. Ok, nobody besides Garth thinks that. More like, late 1st 2013 or 1st 2014 + mid prospect + mid rd pick next year. That, I think is that best deal you could possibly make. And that with the Sabres eating half of Millers salary and cap hit. Alternatively, you could get a bigger return by taking back a bad contract like Meszaros.
I could see:
To Philly: Miller + 2nd rd pick 2014
To Buffalo: 11th overall, Andrej Meszaros, Rights for Kurtis Foster and Simon Gagne
With Buffalo retaining half of Miller's cap/salary. - truthbluth
That isnt that bad. Not going to happen since we now have plenty of cap space but not that bad as far as valuing of your asset IMO. We need that 1st round pick...seriously our prospect pool is terrible!

oooh you mean if we over pay for an aging, headcase goalie we can make it all the way to the 2nd round of the playoffs, rarified air. my guess is he gets bought out or stays - flyerscup2011
Heck no! No more then a 2nd. You're whole fan base is delusional in thinking Miller has significant trade value! - coffee junkie
some teams might go for that.. I didn't think you would. the only thing I can think is if we gave miller (we pay some of the salary) and one of our 2nds but that would still be hard to swallow just because of the talent that will be available when you pick.
Everyone was talking sh!t about how we wouldn't get a good return for Pominville too, and that worked out just fine
Miller is by far the best goalie available...
Except for maybe Luongo, but that contract...
And not only can the Sabres take half of his contract this year to help a team with cap relief, Miller can work out an extension as part of the deal
Calgary doesn't make any sense to me
And Minnesota re-signed Backstrom, so they're out
StL & SJ stick w their goalies IMO
That leaves:
NYI, Philly & Phx as the top contenders
Wash, Win & Pitt I could see wanting to improve their goaltending
Dal, CBus & NJ might have interest depending
Edm, AVs & Fla are a bit more of a long shot, but possible
All we need is two of those teams to have legit interest, and we'll get a great return

People said that Gaustad was horrible and would get us a 4th round pick...
wait... whats that..... he got us a 1st round pick!?!?!
I think I told you and JVince awhile ago they wanted to buy out possibly Ballard and trade Lou cause they didnt wanna pay his buy out but no team wants the penalty that will come once he retires so they were waiting for him to be bought out by VAN.
I still stick with that idea of what teams are thinking but if any team would take a chance on that contract I can see Flyers as suitor number 1. Maybe Van will hold onto some salary. Not too much new info. Just holding onto the old info I already was told.
Nothing on Sabres front I heard of today. IMO Staff to EDM is odd though, with gagner getting a deal I dont see whod we want besides MPS.
He was prob thinking of Schaller,
Who could become a very Gaustad-like 4th line center for us (top defensive forward last year in his conference)
I'm interested to see how he does in Rochester this season

I'm not big on Paajarvi, so I hope we don't get him
