That dipsh*t who steals Homer's, Beezer's and the other guys reports and calls them as his own. I have confronted that guy before, especially after he reported the Regher trade minutes after Homer did here, and when he reported the potential Stafford deal on trade deadline day again after Homer reported it. He also did the same this week when Beezer reported the Enroth deal, minutes later SFO reported it as his own minutes later on twitter. SFO might jump on IncarceratedBob's "rumor."

Any truth to your knowledge that it was actually a deal of Forsberg to Buffalo for Stafford/Vanek/Miller type deal but it fell through at the last second and they just did that back up deal with NSH instead?

The supposed insiders here in DC did not think the deals were related, in as much as Forsberg wasn't going to the Sabres. Just picks.

Luongo is NOT being traded. No team will trade for him since he will carry a special cap penalty for having one of the 40 cap-exploiting contracts, per the new CBA. Teams will just wait for the Canucks to realize that and buy him out. If the Canucks/Gillis are stubborn and refuse to do that, they could keep him on the team one more year and still use an amnesty buyout after next season, the last time teams will be able to use amnesty buyouts. However, if Luongo got hurt and was on the IR when next season ends they could not use an amnesty buyout. So it's rolling the dice to try and wait. Not to mention the team really doesn't need the soap opera the media makes it out to be by keeping him.

For anyone who doesn't understand what the special cap hit is for the 40 contracts flagged by the NHL - if Luongo is traded, and at some point he retires before his contract is up, BOTH teams - the Canucks and the team that traded for him, are penalized for the remainder of his contract based on a formula the NHL uses to decide how much of a benefit his team(s) received from the phony years added on the end of the deal that lowered his cap number. This is the same for the Blackhawks with Hossa and 38 other contracts around the league. It's another reason you'll see a lot of those guys bought out this off-season. It has nothing to do with whether other teams want them, nobody is going to risk taking on those contracts, they'll just wait for these guys to be bought out and then go after them.

You have no idea how bad it stung me haha. Broken phone as soon as I saw it and pissed for few days straight. How I was told was..

Darcy wanted more for Drew than what he was worth from Chuck Fletcher. CF denied it and said lets look at other options how about Pominville. They talked back and forth and a few days went by and nothing. Chuck called him up in the morning and threw that offer down and DR accepted.

McPhee learned of Stafford being available after CF said no and had a deal to acquire him and Vanek and more. (I still dont know what the more part was) for same parts as Erat deal. Last minute Darcy oulled the deal because majority of Sabres brass believed we could make a strong push to playoffs and get in with Vanek and thus committed to trying to make it and figured theyd get more for him come draft time/maybe resign him on the cheap.

McPhee got pissed that the deal wasnt done and was not going to leave deadline with no one and made the Erat deal for an improvement now and if Darcy wanted Forsberg he couldnt have ihim through McPhee. A screw you back to darcy in a way was GM's thought process

Grig's was ranked at #2 behind Yak for a long time, but his stock fell a few months before the draft. I can't see Nichushkin dropping too far, since his stock hasn't dropped.
