Question for you. You won tickets to the draft too right? Did you get the follow up e-mail expalining how to pick up the tickets?
Starting to get nervous. - youarewrong
Nope sorry. Didn't get tickets. Must be one of the other hotties on the board you are thinking of... |

Quick Poll: New Flyers Whipping Boy, 2013-14:
A) Fog-horn Coburn.
B) Cooter McGavin.
C) Super Schenn Bros.
D) The Ghost of Matt Carle.
E) - Moose_15[insert goalie name here].
F) Maybe someone really cool that we don't even know about yet (the waitress' panties)
I think if Holmgren's next 10 days to 2 weeks are like last year. It's him. |

You might want to consult his even-strength TOI during the playoffs. The effect of line-matching him away from both Crosby and Malkin had a dramatic effect on his ES TOI -- the only dman who played the majority of the series who spent less time at ES was Matt Carkner.
He plays a ton on the PP... that's why his overall TOI looks so impressive. - Tomahawk
He won't get a tone of PP here, which makes things worse. |

I think it should be Bud Light, for making commercials without Pitbull. |

Yeah, it's either G) Holmer Simpson or H) Molten Lava. Worst case scenario, it's I) Snider's of Hungover. |

Once he posts that kind of crap, the invite is implied. All you need to do is show up.

Probably because when everything is going wrong, it's easier to believe that getting rid of the figurehead at the top is going to somehow fix everything ion one fell swoop. |

I'm not so sure he's a player I would have signed. There is no question we need to generate offense from the blue line but I hate the price tag and I hate that he has shortcomings in 2 important areas. 5 on 5 and the PK. We just bought out a high priced center that doesn't play much D. Now we are about to sign a defender who doesn't defend! - dingo8urbaby
I woulnt care one bit if Striet doesnt score a single goal. That is not why we got him IMO. As long as he is moving the puck up ice, instead of having everyone stuck in the defensive zone then the signing was a good one.
I bet you the Flyers will be top 10 in ES goals again next season, and people might not recognize it, but it will mostly because of Striet and the correct balance he brings to the defense. |

Talks have begun with Bernie to see if he'll come out of retirement to back up Mason. |

There's an element of "changing the management will change the organizational philosophy" there which frankly isn't true. To change the organizational philosophy on any team with a hands-on owner like ours, the owner's got to change. People prefer to live in hope, though. |

If Loungo becomes a free agent he'll take less to play in Florida and that's where he'll end up. Philly once again is going to gamble on cheap goaltending? When did Hextal retire? Long time without good goaltending. |

Id bet a full camp, strong returning healthy cast of d-men, the continuing emergence of Gusty, and the further development of the young forward will contribute as well. |

I'm sorry I didn't read this post the whole way through, but I agree this team has a nice collection of young guy, but no players that can steal a game other then Giroux. So people saying to just sit back and do nothing and let the young guys grow, I'm afraid they wont grow into a special team.
That is why I think moving up and getting a Nichushkin or Barkov is important for the team. They also need to move someone at center to address a young defense. Then I think you can sit back and let the team develop, while filling out the team with needed role players and vets. - youarewrong
It an interesting point you have. I was thinking about it a little bit actually.
While I am all for letting them grow slowly, at times I do wonder even with that approach if there will be enough "star power" on the team to have them win. Only one way to find out really, but its why I wont be crushing my testicles if in fact they did trade for Ryan or a guy like that.
I'd love Barkov to be honest, they need more size in the middle imo anyway. |

Only if he's buying. I probably can't afford the cover at clubs like those. Or the suit. |
