If you have Erixon, whoever the 14th pick is, Gustefsson, and one of Bourdon, Gostisbere, or Lauridsen we might not need to. Well maybe 1 top 4 guy, but the salary for the defense would be where it should be.

I don't think Erixon projects as a top-4, I'm really just not sold on the guy. Bourdon, God knows if he'll ever play again. Lauridsen projects as a weak 5, at best (unless he makes huge strides...I like him, but he's not a top-4). Gostisbehere is still at least 2 years away, but could be a top-4 for sure.

I just think that people are severely undervaluing Coburn. His point totals have never been what they were in 07/08, but he's still a serviceable #4. He's a big body with surprising speed who can move the puck fairly well. I'm not sold on trading him and a top-half pick to move up and draft a guy who hasn't really (statistically) shown he's worth a top-5 pick.

Also, I'm biased because I think Ryan Pulock will end up being the best player in the draft. I like him so much I'd try to move up to 9 to make sure I get him.

i would think maybe read,simmonds,11th pick,and 2nd rd pick.if the 2nd doesnt do it i throw in laughton instead of 2nd.i would try to keep coots.philly is a couple years away they could replace reads goals with someone who gets bought out and mcginn to take simmonds spot.over the next couple of years add pieces to the d.in 2 yrs from now when philly is a contender sign ryan as ufa.

Yes. He could probably play on the 3rd pairing right away. I think risto could as well. Guys like Pulock and definitely Nurse need more time to develop.
