really I was streching. There just arent too many players like Barnaby or Avery or Domi anymore. - youarewrong
I know. I hate players because they're good and they beat the Flyers. |

As Toronto needs help on their blue line (probably like 29 other NHL teams), I have no idea why they'd do this. Is his cap hit awful or something? I'm too lazy to look it up. - johndewar
Yeah, they think he's a good captain and gives what they ask but he's not worth the cap hit. He has his detractors because of it. |

But I love lists.
Combining the two would just lead to my own confusion. |

Yeah, that factors in too. The money's the big thing. They don't want that tied up next year. They need some flexibility. |

Vinny's is a bit more forgiveable. He provided that franchise with a lot before they signed him to the big deal |

I think Vinny gave alot more to the team before being bought out so I'd still give it alittle bit more time before I'd call us taunt-free |

See that right there is why he's not good, even as a depth guy. I'd so much rather have Huskins as our #7 than Gervais. Huskins is cheap, and can play decent minutes as a pretty good shut-down guy. Gervais can play only 12 minutes a game and still can't handle even the simplest of defensive assignments. Gervais is a #7 offensive defenseman. That by nature is just a bad player type to include in your lineup. I'd much rather have a guy that isn't a liability defensively as my #7. - JAKEw1234
I agree. I'd rather have Huskins as the 7th also. I like him better. But that doesn't change that if the Flyers have a top 6 of Timonen, Schenn, Grossmann, Coburn, Gustafsson, and Streit. I'm fine with Gervais as the 7th. I'm also fine with an upgrade over Gervais. And that he should only be playing 12 minutes a game is not a reason why he's not good. Huskins should be playing the same amount if he was here, and placed in the lineup. |

So in a similar discussion, how the hell does Pat Brisson get some many high-end clients? He's like a magician. His current client list:
Daniel Alfredsson
Mikael Backlund
Daniel Briere
Martin Brodeur
Dan Cleary
Sidney Crosby
David Desharnais
Shane Doan
Matt Duchene
Ray Emery
Sergei Federov
Cam Fowler
Sergei Gonchar
Dany Heatley
Shawn Horcoff
Erik Johnson
Patrick Kane
Anze Kopitar
Louis Leblanc
Evgeni Malkin
Mattias Ohlund
Stephane Robidas
Daniel Sedin
Henrik Sedin
Mark Streit
Brad Stuart
Maxime Talbot
John Tavares
Jonathan Toews
Jack Skille
Nathan MacKinnon
Claude Giroux
Jonathan Bernier
Seth Jones
This guy could monopolize the player market if he tried
EDIT Sorry, forgot Seth Jones is also his client. |

I'm not. I want an upgrade. Both MAB and Gus are no longer waiver exempt players. They both need to be on the roster or they won't be able to be called up to start the season. |

They can be recalled, they just have to be sent through waivers to be sent to the AHL...no such thing as recall waivers anymore. |

I'm fine with an upgrade. Once sent down, any player can be recalled if there is roster and cap space room. Recall waivers don't exist anymore.
If MAB is ready to play again in the NHL. I'd be fine with him as the 7th over Gervais. I liked what I saw from him. Good mobility and played with a physical edge. I just don't know if after missing a full year, that he'll be ready for the NHL. He may need some playing time in the AHL. And I expect Gustafsson to be a regular in the top 6. Barring any kind of trade or future move. |

So we can call them up but not send them back down? It's a moot point as I still thnk both are better than Gervais |

They can be sent up and down as often as they'd like. Just have to pass waivers going down. |

Gustafsson wouldn't pass waivers, but there's no reason to waive him. He'd be a lock for my top six this year.
MAB possibly could. I think teams would be wary of his concussion woes. |
