I have to admit that I am surprised Steve Montador never played a game for the Hawks this season, not that they ever needed him. I've always loved his game and I see nothing within his stats that accuse him of being a bad player, plus he is only 33. I would take a flyer on him. Montador could be more a cap relief.

He missed over half the Season with a concussion. They then sent him to the AHL.

Holmgren has some work to do at the draft and during UFA. Hopefully he can fill the needs without hurting another area.

I think he uses Read & Coburn as his trade chips.

Probably would like to use Mez but he wont be cleared until late July.

Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Martin and Fleury = $32,400,000. Then think about adding Letang's proposed $7 million on top of that and you have 6 players earning just under $40 million of a $64 million cap.

Letang's proposed new deal wouldn't kick in until the 2014/2015 season, when the cap will rise.

Good point and he's much older then Gervais but it's not like it can't be done. I expect Gervias to become the whipping boy this season. I don't like his game at all. I'm surprised he isn't whipped on already. He isn't nearly as much as Randy Jones, Matt Carle, Andreas Nodl or Kyle Calder. I think Bruno Gervais fits in perfectly.
