Buncha' (frank)ing pussie$ trying to cash in.
The league can't control the players on the ice like (frank)ing robots. poop happens ... And when it does, the league takes action (usually).
The players can't forget that they were the ones who signed up to play hockey, knowing damn well the potential injuries that could occur as a result. |

the issue is, if the league knew of the long term risks, and when..not that guys can get hurt..big difference
but
the players union unanimously voting to keep fighting in the game also hurts their case, for the current guys at least |

What's next, boxers filing a class action against the boxing league because they should have taken steps to take the punches out of the sport because they knew the long-term risks????
The players knew the risks. And they know them now, and continue to choose to play. Most of them have more than enough to retire if they so choose. And the ones who didn't are part of this ridiculous suit, trying to cash in on the current fad of blaming leagues for injuries that are part of the game, which the players damn-well knew was a possibility when they signed up to be paid to play contact sport. |

not sure if you saw league of denial on frontline, on the nfl players issues or not..
signing up for needing new hips and knees at age 50 is common knowledge, they didn't sign on for long term brain damage
that the league knew (nfl), and did nothing about it is completely (frank)ed up
that hs players who have died and examined had the same brain damage..the show is worth watching
if an employer knows a very serious long term risk is happening in the work place and doesn't tell the workers, there is a big big problem, no matter in sports or not
if a guy gets a concussion and is told he is fine the next day, or is allowed to play on the next poop..when information is out there that they know that it's detrimental... |

I think the only issue is if team doctors diagnosed a concussion, knew the long-term ramifications and put them back on the ice without communicating those risks. Considering when these guys played, I think that's pretty doubtful, but I have no idea who knew what when and seems to me it would be pretty hard to prove.
The lawyer came across as a total ambulance chaser and my guess is he's aiming for an out of court settlement just to make it go away, just like the NFL. Easy money for him. |

Didn't know that the info was out there at that point in time... I thought learning the long-term effects of concussions was a fairly recent thing. If they knew, then yeah ... That's (frank)ed up.
I haven't seen that show (League of denial), but I want to now
Who knew what, and when they knew it, along with being able to prove it ... |

The older guys in this suit will have a hard time I think because I don't think that much was known back then, but I could be wrong.
Some of them played a lot more games in the ahl, no way to prove where they were injured, etc
Lots of questions, but definitely watch the show, very interesting stuff.
The NFL has a giant headache on it's hands, no pun intended..they paid off the current suit for a pittance..but if kids stop playing the game due to all of this they are in trouble...and #'s are down.
I need to read the book by the same guys (book is the same name) that did the show, it's supposed to be very good and obviously much more detailed. |

DALLAS - Tyler Seguin, the Dallas Stars' leading goal scorer, is out of the lineup against the Edmonton Oilers because of concussion-like symptoms.
A team spokesman says Sunday that the ailment was caused during Friday's game against Chicago.

The Vancouver Canucks will be without Alex Burrows for the long term, as the forward suffered a broken jaw during the team's 3-2 win over Carolina on Sunday. Burrows suffered the injury after getting hit in the jaw with a puck on a clearing attempt by teammate Chris Tanev |

@TSNBobMcKenzie: As @DarrenDreger reported, Henrik Lundqvist's extension with NYR is for seven years with an AAV of $8.5M.
Have fun with that, although not sure what else Rangers could have done...term sucks for a guy at this age...Gotta give Sedins credit for taking shorter term with Nucks... |
